Antalya is one of Turkey's largest cities, spread along a high cliff above the Mediterranean with the Taurus Mountains rising behind it. The city centre is its busy everyday heart: wide avenues lined with palm trees, shopping streets, offices, markets and cafés, with the old town of Kaleici, the long Konyaalti beach and the Lara coast just a few minutes away (each has its own page on our site).

Landmarks in the centre include Republic Square with its Ataturk monument, the Clock Tower at Kalekapisi, the fluted Yivli Minaret and Hadrian's Gate, the Roman triumphal arch on Ataturk Avenue. The centre suits business travellers, city-break visitors, people visiting family and anyone who likes to stay where local life happens, with trams, restaurants and shops right on the doorstep.

The distance is about 14 km and the transfer normally takes around 24 minutes. From the terminal, the driver follows the wide boulevards that lead from the airport west into town. In the morning and evening rush hours the city roads can be busier, so the journey may take a little longer at those times.

After baggage claim, your driver is waiting in the arrivals hall with a sign showing your name. He helps with your luggage and walks you to the vehicle. We track your flight, so whether you land early or late, the driver is there at the real arrival time, and waiting on delays is free. Night arrivals cost exactly the same as daytime ones, and luggage is always included.

Visitors stay in city hotels around the main squares and avenues, in business hotels, in serviced apartments and in private flats in the residential neighbourhoods. Some central streets are pedestrian zones or have restricted access, so where the car cannot reach your entrance, the driver stops at the nearest accessible point and helps you with your bags.

Please send us the exact hotel name or the full address, ideally with a location pin, when you book. Your vehicle is reserved for your party only and goes straight to your accommodation, with no shared shuttle and no stops at other hotels.

The centre is a good base for exploring Antalya and the surrounding region by private car:

• Duden waterfalls – the Upper Duden falls in a shady park, and the Lower Duden falls tumbling from the cliffs into the sea.
• Karaalioglu Park – a clifftop park with sea views, next to the old Hidirlik Tower.
• Perge and Aspendos – a large ancient city and one of the best-preserved Roman theatres, easily combined in one day.
• Termessos – the ruins of an ancient city high in the mountains west of Antalya.
• Tunektepe – a hilltop above the western end of Konyaalti, reached by cable car, with views over the whole bay.

The airport is close, but you should still be there about 2.5–3 hours before an international flight — check your airline's advice. For a flight at 12:00, for example, a pick-up in the city centre at around 08:30 leaves time for the drive and check-in, with a margin for morning traffic.
