Along the coast from Kemer to the city
Kemer sits south-west of Antalya, where the Taurus mountains drop almost straight into the sea. The transfer to the city centre is about 43 km and normally takes around 45 minutes. The driver follows the D400 coastal road north-east, with the mountains on one side and glimpses of the water on the other, until the road reaches the western edge of the city.
That means Konyaaltı, with its long pebble beach, is the first part of Antalya you reach. The city centre and Kaleiçi lie a little further east, so a few extra minutes are normal, especially on summer evenings or at weekday rush hour when the roads into town fill up.
Swapping the resort for the city
Some guests spend the first part of their holiday in Kemer and then switch to a hotel in the city for a few nights of museums, cafés and evening walks through the old town. Others leave the resort only for the last night before travelling on. Whatever your plan, a private transfer keeps it simple: the car is booked only for your party, it does not stop at other hotels and every suitcase goes in the same vehicle.
Check-out is usually in the morning while new rooms tend to be ready in the afternoon, so ask your city hotel whether you can leave luggage or check in early. If your hotel is inside Kaleiçi, the driver stops at the nearest point a car can reach because of the narrow lanes.
