Between the mountains and the sea
From Antalya city centre to Tekirova is about 62 km, and the drive normally takes around 55 minutes. The route runs west past Konyaaltı beach and then south on the D400 coastal road, squeezed between the Taurus mountains and the sea. It passes Beldibi, Göynük and the town of Kemer before reaching Tekirova, the last resort on this stretch, where hotels sit among pine woods close to the beach.
The road is busiest on summer weekends and in the evenings, when people head back towards the city. If you need to arrive by a certain time, let us know and we will suggest a sensible pick-up time.
From a city stay to a beach hotel
A common plan is to begin with a few nights in Antalya – the old town, the marina, the museums and the cafés of Konyaaltı – and then spend the rest of the holiday by the sea in Tekirova. Others start in the city because of late flights or a business appointment, then move on.
Plan the transfer around your two hotels. You usually check out in the morning, while the room in Tekirova may only be ready in the afternoon; ask the hotel about a luggage room or early check-in. Your suitcases, beach bags and pushchair all travel with you in the same car.
A day out on the southern coast
Staying in the city and simply want a day by the sea? Tekirova is a good choice: the beaches here are framed by forest and mountains, and the ruins of ancient Phaselis are close by. Book the ride there and back together, and agree the pick-up time for the return before you set off, so the evening is planned.
