Bodrum Airport to Bodrum Town, Gümbet & Bitez Transfer

Bodrum town, Gümbet, Bitez and Ortakent sit side by side along the southern shore of the peninsula, each in its own bay. From Bodrum-Milas Airport all four are reached in around forty to fifty minutes. Here is how they differ, what to expect at the drop-off in the old town, and how to plan both legs.

Bay by bay, from east to west

Picture the southern coast as a row of bays strung along one road. Coming from the airport, you reach Bodrum town first, wrapped around its castle and marina. The next bay to the west is Gümbet, then comes Bitez, and further on lies Ortakent. Each step west adds only a few kilometres:

  • Bodrum town: about 36 km, around 40 minutes
  • Gümbet: about 39 km, around 43 minutes
  • Bitez: about 42 km, around 46 minutes
  • Ortakent: about 44 km, around 44 minutes

The spread between the nearest and the farthest is barely six minutes, so choose your bay for the atmosphere you want, not for the length of the drive.

Bodrum town and the old-town drop-off

The town centre grew up around the castle and the marina, and many of its lanes are narrow, some too narrow or restricted for a van. If your guesthouse or apartment is tucked into one of those streets, the driver stops at the nearest point a vehicle can reach and you walk the last stretch. Tell us when booking if anyone in the group has limited mobility or a lot of heavy cases, and send a map pin so the closest drop-off point can be worked out in advance rather than on the spot.

Fixed prices for this run are on the Bodrum-Milas Airport to Bodrum route page, and the Bodrum transfer page covers the wider area.

Gümbet: lively evenings next door

Gümbet is the bay just west of town and is known for its nightlife. Groups of friends often travel here together, which can mean a bigger party coming off the same flight. Since our prices are per vehicle, a group of six in a Minivan or seven in a VIP Mercedes-Benz Vito splits one fixed fare, and ten or more friends fit in a single Mercedes Sprinter (up to 16 seats). Late flights are common for this kind of trip; there is no night surcharge, whatever time you land.

Bitez: one bay over, a slower pace

Move one bay further west and the mood changes. Bitez is the calmer neighbour, a good fit for anyone who prefers a quieter base but still wants Bodrum town within easy reach for an evening out. At around 46 minutes it is, by a narrow margin, the longest of the four southern transfers on paper.

Families travelling here can ask for free child seats; just give the children's ages with the booking and the seats are fitted before pickup. Prices are on the Bitez route page, with more on the bay at the Bitez transfer page.

Ortakent: further on the map, not on the clock

Ortakent is the westernmost of the four, about 44 km from the airport, yet the usual drive time is around 44 minutes, slightly quicker than Bitez. That is down to how the roads approach each bay rather than straight-line distance. In practice the two arrive within a couple of minutes of each other. If you are staying between the bays, or in a holiday home on the slopes behind the beach, the village name on its own may not pin down the address; a location pin from your host, forwarded to us with the booking, takes the guesswork out of the final turn. Live prices are on the Ortakent route page.

And the north side?

For comparison, Torba on the northern shore is about 33 km and around 37 minutes from the airport, a little quicker than Bodrum town itself. So staying on the south side does not mean a longer trip; it is mainly a choice of setting. The northern bays are generally quieter; our Türkbükü, Gündoğan and Torba guide covers them, and the far western villages are in the Yalıkavak and Turgutreis guide. To compare the personality of every area, read the Bodrum peninsula areas guide.

A quick booking checklist

  • Flight number and landing time. We track the flight, so delays are handled without you having to message us, and waiting for a late plane costs nothing.
  • Exact address or map pin. Essential in the old town, helpful everywhere.
  • Number of passengers and bags. This decides Minivan, VIP Vito or Sprinter; there are no saloon cars in our fleet and no luggage fee.
  • Children's ages, if you need child seats.
  • Payment preference. You pay in the vehicle, in cash, or by card if agreed at booking. Nothing is charged in advance and cancellation is free.

Send these on WhatsApp or by e-mail and a fixed per-vehicle quote comes back within 1 minute. Every transfer is private: your group only, no stops for anyone else.

Landing and leaving

After baggage reclaim at Bodrum-Milas, the driver is waiting in the arrivals hall holding a sign with your name, and from there it is a direct run onto the peninsula. On the way home, allow around 40 to 46 minutes for the road from any of the four bays, plus whatever time you like at the terminal before an international flight. In the old town, the pickup is at the same reachable point used for the drop-off, so agree it with the driver on arrival day. Tell us your departure time and we will suggest when to be ready.

Frequently Asked Questions

How long is the transfer from Bodrum Airport to Bodrum town?

About 36 km, which usually takes around 40 minutes.

Can the van drive right to our door in the old town?

Where the street allows it, yes. Some lanes in the centre are too narrow for a vehicle, so the driver stops at the nearest reachable point. A map pin helps us plan this.

Is Gümbet much further than Bodrum town?

No. Gümbet is about 39 km and around 43 minutes, only a few minutes more.

Why does Ortakent take less time than Bitez?

The approach roads differ. Ortakent is about 44 km and around 44 minutes, Bitez about 42 km and around 46 minutes.

How do I find the price?

Each route page has a live price table, or ask on WhatsApp or by e-mail for a fixed quote within 1 minute. The price is per vehicle, not per person.

Is the transfer private or shared?

All our transfers are 100% private; the vehicle is dedicated to your group only, with no other passengers.

Is the price per person or per vehicle?

The price is per vehicle. One passenger or six pay the same fare in the same vehicle.

What happens if my flight is delayed?

We track your flight live and adjust the pickup time to the new landing time, free of charge.

Is prepayment required?

No, standard bookings need no prepayment; you can pay the driver at the end of the transfer.

How can I pay?

Cash (EUR, USD, GBP, TRY) is accepted; you pay in the vehicle. If you would like to pay by card, mention it when booking so we can agree it in advance.
