Bodrum Airport to Bodrum Town Transfer

The Bodrum peninsula lies south-west of the airport. The distance to the town centre is about 36 km and the transfer normally takes around 40 minutes. After leaving the airport you join the main Milas–Bodrum road, cross the neck of the peninsula through pine-covered hills and come down past Konacık into town.

Most of the drive is easy; the slow part is usually the final few kilometres. In July and August, and at weekends when ferries and day-trippers add to the traffic, the approach to the centre and the streets around the marina can be congested, especially in the early evening. Much of old Bodrum is made up of narrow one-way streets and pedestrian areas near the castle, so if your hotel or rental is in a lane cars cannot reach, the driver stops at the nearest accessible point and helps you with the luggage. Sending your exact address or a location pin in advance makes this smooth.

When you come out of baggage reclaim into the arrivals hall, look for your driver holding a sign with your name. He takes care of your suitcases and leads you to the vehicle; the journey goes straight to your door, with no other passengers and no stops at other hotels.

A worked example: flight at 11:30, aim to be at the airport by about 9:00, so a pickup in Bodrum around 8:00 leaves the 40-minute drive plus a buffer for morning traffic leaving town. In peak summer, add a little more for the congested centre.
