Bodrum at a glance
Bodrum is the lively heart of the Bodrum peninsula, on the Aegean coast of Muğla province. White cube houses with blue shutters climb the hills around two bays, and between them stands the Castle of St Peter, built by the Knights of St John and today home to a well-known museum of underwater archaeology. The town was ancient Halicarnassus, birthplace of the historian Herodotus and site of the Mausoleum, one of the Seven Wonders of the Ancient World.
Today Bodrum is known for its marina full of yachts and traditional gulets, its seafront promenade, the famous bars street and a buzzing summer nightlife, but also for boutique shops, fish restaurants and quiet mornings in the old lanes. Guests range from couples and groups of friends to families and yacht travellers, and many use Bodrum as a base to explore the bays of the whole peninsula.

From Milas-Bodrum Airport to Bodrum
The route is about 36 km and usually takes around 40 minutes. From the airport the car follows the main road towards the peninsula, passes the bay of Güvercinlik, crosses the hills and comes down past Torba into Bodrum. On summer evenings the town centre can be busy, so the last few kilometres sometimes take a little longer.
When you come out of baggage claim, your driver is waiting in the arrivals hall with a name sign and helps you with your luggage. We track your flight, so if you land early or late the pick-up time moves with it, and there is no charge for waiting on delays. Night arrivals cost the same as daytime ones, and extra suitcases, golf bags or a pushchair carry no luggage fee.
Where guests stay in Bodrum
Bodrum town has several distinct areas:
- Around the castle and the marina – boutique hotels and guesthouses close to the harbour, the old bazaar and the restaurants.
- Kumbahçe and the eastern bay – small hotels and apartments along the beach near the bars street, lively in summer.
- The hillsides around town – villas and apartment complexes with views over the bays, often reached by steep, narrow streets.
The driver takes you to the door of your hotel or holiday home. In the old centre some lanes are pedestrian or too narrow for a vehicle, so the car may stop at the nearest accessible point and the driver will help you with the bags. Please send us the exact name of your accommodation or a map pin on WhatsApp.
Things to do around Bodrum
Bodrum and the peninsula offer plenty for every kind of holiday:

- The Mausoleum site and the ancient theatre – remains of ancient Halicarnassus in the middle of town.
- Boat trips – day cruises from the harbour to swimming bays around the peninsula.
- The windmills – the old stone mills on the ridge between Bodrum and Gümbet, a favourite sunset spot.
- Peninsula towns – Gümbet, Bitez, Turgutreis, Yalıkavak and the north-coast bays of Türkbükü and Gündoğan.

Returning to Milas-Bodrum Airport
The drive back to the airport takes about 40 minutes, a little longer on busy summer days. Aim to be at the airport 2 to 3 hours before an international flight — check your airline's advice. For a 14:00 flight, for example, a pick-up in Bodrum at around 10:30 leaves a comfortable margin. The driver collects you from the same point where you were dropped off.
Booking both directions together means your return is settled from the start. Choose the vehicle that fits your group:
- Minivan – 1 to 6 passengers with luggage.
- VIP Mercedes-Benz Vito – 1 to 7 passengers, with extra comfort.
- Mercedes Sprinter – 8 to 16 passengers, ideal for groups, weddings and families travelling together.
