Bitez at a glance
Bitez is one of the most relaxed bays on the Bodrum peninsula, set between Gümbet and Ortakent. The bay is wide and sheltered, with a beach of sand and fine pebbles and a long seafront path lined with cafés, beach restaurants and sunbeds. Behind the shore stretch the tangerine orchards that Bitez is known for, and a little inland lies the old village of Bitez with its quieter streets and gardens.
A steady breeze often blows into the bay in the afternoon, which makes Bitez a favourite spot for windsurfing and sailing, while the mornings are usually calm for swimming. The atmosphere is much quieter than in neighbouring Gümbet, so the bay attracts families, couples and long-stay visitors who prefer a peaceful evening by the water to big nightlife — with Bodrum town only a short drive away when they want it.

From Milas-Bodrum Airport to Bitez
The route is about 42 km and usually takes around 46 minutes. From the airport the car follows the main road onto the peninsula, past the bay of Güvercinlik and over the hills, then passes the outskirts of Bodrum and continues west along the peninsula road before turning down to the Bitez bay. In summer the section around Bodrum can be busy in the evening, so the drive may take a little longer.
When you come out of baggage claim, your driver is waiting in the arrivals hall with a name sign and helps you with your luggage. We track your flight, so if you land early or late the pick-up time moves with it, and there is no charge for waiting on delays. Night arrivals cost the same as daytime ones, and extra suitcases, a windsurf bag or a pushchair carry no luggage fee — just mention bulky items when you book.
Where guests stay in Bitez
Accommodation in Bitez is spread between the shore and the hills:
- On the seafront – small hotels and beach hotels along the promenade, steps from the water.
- Among the orchards – apartments, garden hotels and holiday homes behind the beach, quiet and green.
- On the hillsides and towards Bitez village – villas and residences with views over the bay, often reached by narrow lanes.
The driver takes you to the door of your accommodation. Parts of the seafront are pedestrian, and some hillside lanes are steep or narrow, so where the vehicle cannot reach the door it stops at the nearest accessible point and the driver helps you with the bags. A map pin on WhatsApp is the easiest way to make sure we find the right gate.
