Gazipaşa Airport to Mahmutlar & Kargıcak Transfer Guide

Alanya has two airports within reach, and for most of the town the choice depends on the flights you find. On the eastern side of town the geography makes the decision much clearer. Gazipaşa-Alanya Airport (GZP) lies to the east, so Kargıcak and Mahmutlar sit between it and Alanya, while Antalya Airport (AYT) is far to the west, on the other side of the whole resort coast.

• Gazipaşa to Kargıcak: about 25 km, around 30 minutes
• Gazipaşa to Mahmutlar: about 30 km, around 35 minutes
• Antalya to Mahmutlar: about 137 km, around 132 minutes
• Antalya to Kargıcak: about 145 km, around 140 minutes

Put simply, landing at Gazipaşa saves you roughly an hour and a half on the road each way. If you find a suitable flight into GZP, it is hard to beat for this part of the coast. If your only option is Antalya, the longer transfer is still direct and private, just plan your arrival day around it.

From the airport the road follows the coast westward towards Alanya. You meet the neighbourhoods in this order:

• Kargıcak, the first one on the way, about 25 km out.
• Mahmutlar, a little further, about 30 km.
• Kestel, between Mahmutlar and town.
• Tosmur, about 36 km and around 45 minutes.
• Oba, about 38 km and around 45 minutes, on the edge of Alanya town.

Kargıcak is the first of the eastern neighbourhoods you reach from Gazipaşa, so it has the shortest transfer on this stretch: about 25 km and around half an hour. That makes even a late arrival easy to handle, and on the way home it means a relaxed departure rather than a long drive at dawn.

Since Kargıcak and Mahmutlar sit next to each other, some guests are not sure which one their address belongs to. If in doubt, send us the address or a location pin and we will quote the right route. Mahmutlar is a large district with a long beach and a great many apartment blocks and residences. Because so much of the accommodation is in apartments, the transfer usually ends at a specific building rather than at a hotel reception, and travellers often arrive with more luggage than on a short hotel holiday.

Residence complexes in this area can look alike from the street, and a building name alone is not always enough. When you book, it helps to send:

• the full name of the complex and the block, if it has several;
• the street address, or a location pin on WhatsApp;
• the entrance you use, if the site has more than one gate.

Smaller airports can feel quiet at night, and it is reassuring to know someone is waiting. Once you have your bags, head out to the arrivals area.
