Dalaman Airport to Sarıgerme, Köyceğiz & Ortaca Transfer

Dalaman Airport (DLM) sits on flat farmland near the coast, and a handful of towns lie almost on its doorstep. Going by our own route figures, the order from nearest to farthest looks like this:

• Ortaca: about 17 km, around 20 minutes
• Sarıgerme: about 18 km, around 22 minutes
• Dalyan: about 29 km, around 35 minutes
• Köyceğiz: about 38 km, around 40 minutes

If you have chosen one of these four, your holiday starts quickly: you can land, collect your bags and be unpacking not long after the plane touches down. Even the farthest of them is under three quarters of an hour away.

Ortaca is a working market town west of the airport rather than a resort in itself. People stay here to visit family, for a quieter local base, or simply because it is the hub through which the roads to Dalyan and the nearby beaches pass. At around 20 minutes it is the quickest transfer on this list.

Because Ortaca is a real town with residential streets, an exact address or map pin is more useful here than in a resort strip. Send it when you book and the driver will take you to the door rather than to the centre. Fixed prices are listed on the Dalaman Airport to Ortaca route page.

Sarıgerme is a long sandy beach backed by resort hotels, near Ortaca and Dalaman. Most visitors arrive for a beach holiday and want to reach their room with as little fuss as possible, which suits a short private transfer well: around 22 minutes and about 18 km.

Families like the short distance in particular. Tired children barely have time to fall asleep before you arrive, and if you ask for child seats when booking (with the children's ages), they are fitted before the driver comes to arrivals, free of charge. Köyceğiz is a small town on the shore of Köyceğiz Lake, further west than Ortaca. It has a slower, lakeside feel and attracts travellers who prefer a town setting to a resort. The drive is about 38 km and usually takes around 40 minutes, still short by Dalaman standards.

Dalyan, the river village beyond Ortaca, sits between Sarıgerme and Köyceğiz in terms of travel time: about 29 km and around 35 minutes. The road to Dalyan runs through Ortaca, which is why Ortaca is often called its gateway. If you are splitting a holiday between a few nights by the beach and a few nights on the river, these short hops make a two-centre trip easy, and each leg can be booked as its own fixed-price transfer. It is a fair question. On a short route the advantage is less about saving time on the road and more about removing the waiting around it. A private transfer means:

• No queue for a ride and no waiting for a shared coach to fill.
• No stops at other hotels: the van carries only your group, door to door.
• A price agreed before you fly, fixed per vehicle rather than per person, so there is nothing to negotiate after a long flight.
• No extra charge for suitcases, pushchairs or a late landing; there is no night surcharge.

We run vans only, no saloon cars, so there is always room for luggage. A Minivan takes 1 to 6 passengers, a VIP Mercedes-Benz Vito 1 to 7 with more comfortable seating, and a Mercedes Sprinter 8 to 16, handy for extended families or friends sharing a villa near the lake. Once through passport control and baggage reclaim, walk out to the arrivals area, where your driver stands with a name sign. Flights are tracked, so an early or late landing simply moves the pickup and waiting for a delayed plane is free.
