The route stays on the D400 the whole way — east past Belek, Side and Manavgat, through Alanya, then along the increasingly rural coast past Mahmutlar and Demirtaş, where banana plantations and greenhouses line the road, before arriving in Gazipaşa.
Alanya is the bottleneck: in high summer the town crossing can be slow, while overnight trips are much quicker. Beyond Alanya the road is generally calmer.
