Which Airport for the Turkish Riviera? AYT, GZP, DLM, BJV, ADB

The Turkish coast is long. Antalya and Bodrum are more than 400 km apart by road, so the airport you choose really matters. Use this as a starting point:

• Lara, Kundu, Antalya city, Konyaaltı, Belek, Side, Manavgat, Kemer, Tekirova, Alanya → Antalya (AYT)
• Mahmutlar, Kargıcak, Oba and eastern Alanya → Gazipaşa-Alanya (GZP), if a flight suits you
• Fethiye, Ölüdeniz, Göcek, Dalyan, Sarıgerme, Marmaris, İçmeler → Dalaman (DLM)
• Bodrum, Gümbet, Bitez, Turgutreis, Yalıkavak, Türkbükü → Milas-Bodrum (BJV)
• Çeşme, Alaçatı, Kuşadası, Selçuk/Ephesus, İzmir city → İzmir (ADB)

Antalya is the main gateway, with the widest choice of flights. It lies just east of the city, which makes it close to Lara and Belek and still reasonable for Kemer and Side.

• Kaleiçi (old town) — ≈16 km / ≈25 min
• Belek — ≈33 km / ≈40 min
• Kemer — ≈58 km / ≈70 min
• Side — ≈65 km / ≈75 min
• Tekirova — ≈75 km / ≈85 min
• Alanya — ≈125 km / ≈120 min
• Kaş — ≈200 km / ≈180 min; Kalkan — ≈215 km / ≈200 min

Gazipaşa is a small airport east of Alanya with fewer flights. When one fits your dates, it cuts the transfer for the eastern resorts dramatically:

• Kargıcak — ≈25 km / ≈30 min (from Antalya: ≈145 km / ≈140 min)
• Mahmutlar — ≈30 km / ≈35 min (from Antalya: ≈137 km / ≈132 min)
• Oba — ≈38 km / ≈45 min
• Alanya centre — ≈40 km / ≈50 min (from Antalya: ≈125 km / ≈120 min)
• Konaklı — ≈54 km / ≈60 min (from Antalya: ≈117 km / ≈120 min)

Dalaman serves the stretch between Fethiye and Marmaris. Typical times from the airport:

• Sarıgerme — ≈18 km / ≈22 min
• Göcek — ≈25 km / ≈25 min
• Dalyan — ≈29 km / ≈35 min
• Fethiye — ≈55 km / ≈55 min
• Ölüdeniz — ≈63 km / ≈70 min
• Marmaris — ≈96 km / ≈95 min; İçmeler — ≈103 km / ≈105 min

Kaş and Kalkan lie between Antalya and Dalaman. If you are flying in for them, ask us to compare both airports when you request a quote.

For Bodrum town and the bays around the peninsula — Gümbet, Bitez, Ortakent, Turgutreis, Akyarlar, Yalıkavak, Türkbükü and Gündoğan — Milas-Bodrum is the airport to choose. Note that Marmaris is not a Bodrum-airport resort despite being in the same province: it is reached much more directly from Dalaman. For any bay on the peninsula, give us the exact hotel or villa address and we will plan the pick-up time for the return with you.

The northern Aegean resorts are served by İzmir Adnan Menderes Airport:

• İzmir centre — ≈18 km / ≈30 min
• Selçuk (for Ephesus) — ≈55 km / ≈50 min
• Kuşadası — ≈75 km / ≈70 min
• Alaçatı — ≈78 km / ≈65 min
• Çeşme — ≈85 km / ≈70 min

Look at the whole journey, not just the ticket. A slightly cheaper flight that adds two extra hours in the car each way, with tired children, is rarely a bargain. On the other hand, a direct flight to Antalya can beat a connection to Dalaman even for Kaş.

Open-jaw trips also work well: land in Antalya, spend a week on the coast, then finish in Fethiye and fly home from Dalaman. Think about the departure day too. An evening flight from Antalya after a week in Alanya means about two hours on the road with your luggage, while the same week in Mahmutlar with a Gazipaşa flight leaves you more time at the pool. Likewise, a Marmaris holiday that ends in Dalaman is a short, easy ride, whereas the same holiday ending in Antalya takes most of the day. Whatever you decide, book the return transfer together with the arrival and just confirm the pick-up time later.
