Short answer: Dalaman is the Fethiye airport

If your holiday is in Fethiye or anywhere around it, Dalaman Airport is the natural choice. It sits east of Fethiye along the coast road, and the drive to Fethiye town is only about 55 kilometres. Göcek, the yachting bay, is even closer at around 25 minutes, and Ölüdeniz is roughly an hour and ten minutes away.

Antalya Airport also works, but it is a much longer ride over the mountains and along the Lycian coast. It is worth considering only when the flights suit you far better, or when you are combining Fethiye with a stay on the Antalya side. You can see the live fixed prices for the direct ride on the Dalaman Airport to Fethiye route page.

What happens when you land at Dalaman

After passport control and baggage reclaim, walk out into the arrivals hall. Your driver waits there with a name sign, so there is no queue, no haggling and no searching for a car park. We track your flight, which means a delay does not cause a problem: waiting time is free and the agreed price stays exactly the same.

  • Price per vehicle, fixed before the trip, not per person.
  • No night surcharge and no extra fee for luggage, pushchairs or a folding wheelchair.
  • Child seats free of charge if you mention them when booking.
  • No prepayment: you pay in the vehicle, in cash, or by card if agreed in advance.

Send us your flight number and the address of your accommodation, and the fixed-price quote comes back within one minute. Cancellation is free.

Drive times from Dalaman Airport

These are typical road distances and times for a private transfer. In the high season, traffic around Fethiye town can add a little time, especially in the early evening.

  • Göcek — ≈25 km / ≈25 min
  • Dalyan — ≈29 km / ≈35 min
  • Çalış Beach — ≈49 km / ≈50 min
  • Fethiye town — ≈55 km / ≈55 min
  • Ovacık — ≈61 km / ≈65 min
  • Ölüdeniz — ≈63 km / ≈70 min
  • Kayaköy — ≈63 km / ≈70 min
  • Hisarönü — ≈64 km / ≈65 min
  • Faralya — ≈79 km / ≈95 min

Faralya takes longer than its distance suggests because the last part is a narrow, winding road high above the sea.

Which part of Fethiye are you staying in?

Fethiye is not one resort but a cluster of quite different places, and the transfer time depends on which one you booked.

  • Fethiye town — the harbour, the old town and the rock tombs carved into the cliff above. Good if you want restaurants and boat trips within walking distance.
  • Çalış — a long beach just north of the town, flat and easy to walk, with a promenade. It is the first stop on the way in from Dalaman.
  • Ölüdeniz — the famous lagoon and beach south of Fethiye, under Babadağ mountain where the paragliders take off.
  • Hisarönü and Ovacık — on the hill between Fethiye and Ölüdeniz, with lots of apartments and villas.
  • Kayaköy — the abandoned stone village in a quiet valley; a quieter base away from the beach crowds.
  • Göcek — a small marina town in a sheltered bay, the closest of all to the airport.

Give us the exact address or the name of your villa when you book the transfer, so the driver knows which of these places to head for.

Choosing the right vehicle

All transfers are private: only your party in the car, no stops at other hotels. Pick the vehicle by the number of people and the amount of luggage.

  • Minivan — 1 to 6 passengers.
  • VIP Mercedes-Benz Vito — 1 to 7 passengers, for a more comfortable ride.
  • Mercedes Sprinter — 8 to 16 passengers, for groups, wedding parties or two families together.

Because the price is per vehicle, a family of five pays the same as a couple in the same car. Villa groups with lots of suitcases often do best with the next size up; tell us what you are bringing and we will suggest the right one.

Return day: when to leave for Dalaman

For the flight home, start from your departure time and work backwards. Check what your airline recommends for check-in, add the drive time from the list above, then add a buffer for summer traffic and for collecting the keys from a villa or settling a hotel bill. From Göcek that buffer can be small; from Faralya or Ölüdeniz give yourself more room.

You can book the return transfer together with the arrival, and simply confirm the pick-up time once you know your plans. If your flight leaves very early, ask reception to prepare your bill the night before so the morning is calm.

Antalya Airport: the long alternative

Sometimes the best flight lands in Antalya instead. The ride from Antalya Airport to Fethiye is about 230 km and takes around 200 minutes, so plan on more than three hours in the car. It is a scenic road past Kaş and Kalkan, and with a private car you can ask for a short comfort stop on the way.

This option makes sense if you are doing a two-centre holiday, for example a week near Antalya and a week in Fethiye. For the direct ride, see the Antalya Airport to Fethiye route. If you are not sure which airport fits your trip at all, read which airport for your Turkish Riviera resort.
