Dalaman Airport to Marmaris Transfer: İçmeler, Turunç & More

Marmaris lies on the south-west coast of Turkey, and of the airports in the region, Dalaman (DLM) is the one nearest to it by road. Bodrum-Milas and Antalya both serve their own holiday coasts and are considerably further away; flying into either and driving to Marmaris would add hours to your arrival day. We do run transfers from those airports too, but if you have a choice of flights, Dalaman makes the most sense for this part of the coast.

From Dalaman the journey is a little over an hour and a half to the town itself, which is very manageable even after an early start from home.

Leaving the airport, the road heads west through green, hilly countryside and farmland. It is a proper main road for most of the way, and the last stretch winds down towards the bay, where Marmaris appears with its harbour and the mountains behind it.

There is no need to plan a stop, but if anyone needs a short break, especially children, just ask the driver. The vehicle is reserved for your party alone, so there are no detours to drop off other passengers and nobody else's schedule to keep to.

Most of our Marmaris bookings end at one of these four areas. Each has its own route page with the live price table:

• Marmaris town – about 96 km, around 95 minutes. Dalaman Airport to Marmaris.
• Armutalan – about 97 km, around 100 minutes. A residential and hotel area right behind the town. Dalaman Airport to Armutalan.
• İçmeler – about 103 km, around 105 minutes. The bay just south-west of Marmaris. Dalaman Airport to İçmeler.
• Turunç – about 115 km, around 125 minutes. Dalaman Airport to Turunç.

Marmaris town and Armutalan are only minutes apart, which is why their drive times are nearly identical and either works as a base close to everything in town. Between the town and İçmeler the road follows the shore around the bay, so the extra ten or so minutes pass with a view of the water. Many visitors hesitate between these two: the town puts you close to the harbour, the marina and the busy seafront, while İçmeler is a separate resort with its own beach, and the two are easy to travel between during your stay. Turunç is a smaller, quieter bay further south of İçmeler, and the only way there is over a hilly road with bends. That is why the transfer takes around two hours rather than the hour and a half to Marmaris, even though the extra distance on the map looks small. Our drivers know this road well and take it at a comfortable pace.

Landing at Dalaman in the evening or after midnight does not change the price: there is no night surcharge. We track your flight number, so if you are held up on the tarmac or at passport control, your driver adjusts and waits for you at no extra charge.

All our vehicles are vans, never saloon cars, so there is room for suitcases, pushchairs and dive or sailing kit:

• Minivan, for 1 to 6 passengers
• VIP Mercedes-Benz Vito, for 1 to 7 passengers
• Mercedes Sprinter, for 8 to 16 passengers

You pay per vehicle, not per head, and luggage is included. A Sprinter is the usual choice for a wedding party, a sailing crew heading to the marina, or two families sharing a villa, since everyone arrives together instead of in separate cars. Free child seats are fitted if you tell us the children's ages when booking.

For your departure, allow at least the same drive time back to Dalaman as on arrival, plus some spare time for check-in, and longer from Turunç.
