When people say “Belek” they usually mean a stretch of coast east of Antalya, in the Serik district, rather than one village. A long sandy beach runs the whole way, with large resort hotels standing in a row behind it and pine woods between the hotels and the main road. The golf courses lie mostly on the inland side of the resorts.
For choosing a hotel it helps to split the coast into three parts:
- Kadriye – the western end, nearest to Antalya and the airport.
- Belek – the middle, around the small town of Belek and the main cluster of golf courses.
- Boğazkent – the eastern end, near the mouth of the Köprüçay river.
All three share the same type of beach and the same resort style. The real differences are distance from the airport, how close you are to a town, and how busy the surroundings feel.
