Antalya Airport Arrival Guide: From the Plane to Your Driver

After landing at Antalya Airport (AYT) you go through passport control, collect your bags at the belt, pass customs and walk out into the arrivals hall. If you booked a private transfer, your driver is waiting there with your name on a sign, so the whole thing is usually simpler than it sounds.

Which terminal will you land at?

Antalya Airport has two international terminals (Terminal 1 and Terminal 2) and a separate domestic terminal. Which one you use depends on your airline and flight, not on where you are staying. The terminal is normally printed on your boarding pass or shown in your airline app; if it is not, check the airline's website the day before you fly.

You do not need to know the terminal to meet your driver: because we track your flight, the driver goes to the right arrivals hall. Still, it helps to mention the terminal in your booking if you already know it, especially if you are travelling on a connecting ticket via Istanbul, where you may land at the domestic terminal instead.

Step 1: Passport control

Follow the signs for passport control as soon as you leave the plane. There are usually separate queues for Turkish citizens and foreign passport holders, so pick the right one. In summer, several large flights often land within the same hour, and the queue can take a while, so keep your passport in your hand luggage, not in the suitcase.

Visas and entry rules are your own responsibility. Requirements depend on your nationality and change from time to time, so check the official government sources for your passport well before travelling and carry any document they ask for. We cannot give visa advice, but we can tell you that your driver will still be there if passport control takes longer than expected.

Step 2: Baggage reclaim and customs

After passport control you reach the baggage hall. Screens show your flight number and the belt where your suitcases arrive. Trolleys are available in the hall. Prams and car seats you checked in sometimes come out at a separate point for bulky items, so look around before you worry.

  • If a bag is missing or damaged, report it at the baggage service desk before you leave the hall and keep the reference number.
  • Then send us a quick message so the driver knows why you are delayed.
  • Pass through customs by following the signs; use the declaration channel only if you have something to declare.

Step 3: Arrivals hall and meeting your driver

Once you walk through the sliding doors you are in the arrivals hall. With our airport transfer, your driver stands in the hall holding a sign with your name. Take a moment to look along the barrier: drivers line up there, and the hall can be busy in high season.

  • Only go with the driver holding your name sign. If someone else approaches you offering a ride, politely say you already have a transfer.
  • Your driver will help with the luggage and walk you to the vehicle in the car park.
  • Since we track your flight, an early or late landing is not a problem, and waiting for a delayed flight is free.

The price was agreed when you booked and does not change because of a delay, traffic, night time or extra luggage.

No phone signal or roaming? What to do

Many travellers land with roaming switched off, a dead battery or a phone that cannot find a network. Plan for that before you fly:

  1. Save our WhatsApp number and take a screenshot of your booking so you can see the details offline.
  2. In the arrivals hall, try the airport Wi-Fi if it is available and send us a WhatsApp message; most hotels also offer Wi-Fi if you need to contact us later.
  3. If you cannot get online at all, stay in the arrivals hall and look for your name sign. Do not leave the building to search outside.

Charge your phone on the plane if you can; a power bank in the hand luggage is a good idea for long travel days.

Cash, SIM cards and ATMs in the arrivals hall

In the arrivals area you will find ATMs, currency exchange counters and mobile operator desks selling local SIM cards. Rates and packages differ, so compare what is shown before you exchange money or buy a SIM.

You do not need to prepay anything for your transfer: you pay in the vehicle, in cash, or by card if you agreed that in advance. If you plan to pay cash, it is easiest to have it ready before you meet the driver.

From the airport to your hotel

Most drives from AYT are short. Typical road times are Lara ≈ 20 min, Kaleiçi ≈ 25 min, Belek ≈ 40 min, Kemer ≈ 70 min, Side ≈ 75 min and Alanya ≈ 2 h; heavy traffic in high season can add time. You can see the details and live prices on each route page, for example Antalya Airport to Belek or Antalya Airport to Side.

Every transfer is private: just your group, a fixed price per vehicle, free child seats on request and no luggage fee. Choose a minivan for up to 6, a Mercedes-Benz Vito for up to 7 or a Sprinter for 8 to 16 people, and book online or on WhatsApp at any time. Going home later? Read when to leave your hotel for the airport.
