The longest leg of the Antalya coast
Kaş and Side sit at opposite ends of the region's main holiday coast, so this transfer is a proper journey: about 259 km, normally a little over four hours. The first part follows the winding Lycian coast through Demre, Finike and Kumluca; the road then passes Kemer, crosses Antalya, and continues east along the D400 past the Belek area towards Manavgat and Side.
Because the route runs through the city and several busy resort areas, summer traffic is the main factor in the timing. Leaving Kaş in the morning gives you the calmest roads and an arrival in Side in the afternoon.
From a Lycian harbour to ancient Side
The two places complement each other well. Kaş is small and relaxed, ideal for diving, boat trips and evenings at the harbour. Side combines an ancient town on a small peninsula, with the remains of temples and a theatre among the streets, and long sandy beaches lined with resort hotels on either side. Many travellers spend the first week in one and the second in the other.
