Kaş to Kalkan Transfer

The transfer from Kaş to Kalkan covers about 27 km and usually takes around 30 minutes. The road runs west high above the sea, with turquoise bays below and the mountains rising inland. Along this stretch lies the well-known Kaputaş cove, one of the most photographed beaches on the Lycian coast. In summer the road is busier in the late afternoon, so allow a little extra time if you have a table booked.

Kalkan itself climbs a steep hillside above a small harbour, with whitewashed houses, narrow streets and rooftop terraces looking out to sea.

Many guests staying in Kaş like to spend an evening in Kalkan: a walk down to the harbour, dinner on a terrace, perhaps some shopping in the old streets. The problem is usually getting home afterwards. Book a return transfer together with the outward trip and agree the pick-up time for the drive back to Kaş – the car will be there when you are ready, and nobody in the group has to stay sober to drive.

The same works for visiting friends who have a villa in Kalkan, or for a business meeting in town.

Kalkan is popular for villa holidays, and many visitors split their stay between a hotel in Kaş and a house in Kalkan, or the other way round. If you arrive early, ask your host or hotel about leaving your bags.
