Antalya Airport to Kaş and Kalkan Transfer: The Coastal Drive

Plan on a long drive, not a quick hop. These are the typical figures for a private car with driver from Antalya Airport:

• Kaş: ≈200 km, ≈3 h
• Kalkan: ≈215 km, ≈3 h 20 min
• Patara: ≈225 km, ≈3 h 30 min

High season and traffic around Antalya city can add time, so treat these as normal-day estimates. Kalkan and Patara lie further west on the same road as Kaş, so all three trips share most of the route. From the airport the driver heads west around Antalya city and follows the main coastal road towards Kemer. The first part runs past the Kemer coast, where the mountains come close to the sea and the road passes through several tunnels.

After the Kemer area the road climbs inland through wooded hills before coming back down to Kumluca, a farming town known for its greenhouses, and then Finike, a small harbour town on a wide bay. Next comes Demre, the site of ancient Myra.

From Demre onwards the road hugs the coastline, and this is the scenic half of the trip: bays, small islands offshore and steep hillsides dropping into the sea. Kaş sits on this stretch. Antalya Airport is the usual gateway for Kaş, and it has a wide choice of flights. For Kalkan, Dalaman Airport (DLM) is also worth checking, because it lies to the west of Kalkan and Fethiye rather than to the east. We serve both airports, with meet and greet and a name sign at each.

A simple way to decide: compare flight times and prices first, then add the drive. A cheaper or better-timed flight into Antalya can easily outweigh a longer drive, while an evening arrival may be easier at the airport with the shorter road to your hotel. On a short trip almost any transport will do. On a drive of three hours or more, the details matter:

If your flight lands in the evening or at night, you may arrive in Kaş or Kalkan well after midnight. That is not a problem for a private transfer. Your driver tracks the flight, so if it is delayed the pick-up moves with it and the waiting is free. There is no night surcharge: the price agreed when you book stays the same.

A few practical tips for a late arrival: tell your hotel or villa owner that you will check in late and ask how to get the keys, keep some water and a snack for the drive, and let children sleep in their seats. If you are travelling with a baby, a seat suited to sleeping makes the three hours much easier.

For the flight home, work backwards. Allow 2–3 hours at Antalya Airport for check-in and security, add the drive of about 3 h from Kaş or 3 h 20 min from Kalkan, and add extra time in high season.

As an example, for an afternoon flight at 15:00 from Antalya, a pick-up in Kaş at about 09:00 is a sensible plan. Check your hotel check-out time and ask reception about late check-out or a place to leave luggage if your flight is late in the evening.
