Antalya Airport to Lara & Kundu Transfer: 20-Minute Guide

Lara is the closest resort area to Antalya Airport: about ≈14 km and ≈20 minutes by private transfer, with Kundu just beyond at ≈16 km and ≈26 minutes. The drive is short, but a car waiting for you in arrivals still makes a real difference at night, with children or with a lot of luggage.

How far are Lara and Kundu from the airport?

Very close. Antalya Airport (AYT) sits just inland from the eastern edge of the city, and Lara lies on the coast directly south of it. A private transfer to Lara covers about ≈14 km and takes around ≈20 minutes. Kundu, the hotel zone that continues east along the same shore, is ≈16 km and ≈26 minutes away. In summer traffic you may need a few extra minutes, but this is still the quickest transfer you can book from AYT.

For comparison, Kaleiçi, the old town, is ≈16 km and ≈25 minutes from the airport, Konyaaltı on the western side of the city ≈27 km and ≈35 minutes, and Belek ≈33 km and ≈40 minutes. Live prices for each trip are on the route pages: Antalya Airport to Lara and Antalya Airport to Kundu.

Why book a private car for such a short ride?

Twenty minutes sounds like nothing – until you land at 1 a.m. with two tired children, a pushchair and four suitcases. A booked transfer removes the small frictions of the first hour:

  • No searching: the driver waits in the arrivals hall with your name on a sign.
  • No discussion about the fare: the price is fixed per vehicle before the trip, and it does not change for night-time, traffic or luggage.
  • Child seats ready: they are free on request, so you are not improvising with a toddler on your lap.
  • Delays covered: we track the flight, and waiting for a late landing is free.
  • Right to the door: large resorts often have long driveways and several buildings; the driver takes you to the main entrance rather than dropping you at the road.

There is no prepayment – you pay in the vehicle – and cancellation is free, so booking early costs you nothing if plans change.

Lara and Kundu: what is the difference?

The two names are often used together, but they feel slightly different. Lara is the eastern seaside part of Antalya itself. It has a long sandy beach, a mix of hotels, apartments, shops and restaurants, and it stays connected to the city – you are a short drive from the centre and from Kaleiçi. The lower Düden waterfall, where the river drops over the cliffs straight into the sea, is also on the Lara coast.

Kundu lies further east, past the end of the Lara strip. It is mainly a zone of large resort hotels lined up along the beach, so it feels more like a self-contained holiday area. If you plan to stay in your resort most of the week, Kundu suits that; if you want to go into town often, Lara is a little handier. Our guide to Lara, Kundu, Konyaaltı and Kaleiçi compares the city areas in more detail.

Arrival: meeting your driver

Once you are through passport control and have your bags, head out to the arrivals hall. Your driver is there with a name sign. Because the journey is so short, on a normal day you reach your hotel entrance well within an hour of walking out of the terminal.

Choose the vehicle by group size: a Minivan for 1–6 passengers, a VIP Mercedes-Benz Vito for 1–7, or a Mercedes Sprinter for 8–16. As you pay per vehicle, a family or a group of friends shares one price. Mention the children’s ages if you need child seats, and give us your flight number so we can follow any delay.

Kaleiçi and the city are next door

Staying in Lara or Kundu does not mean being cut off from Antalya. The old town of Kaleiçi, with its harbour, narrow lanes and Hadrian’s Gate, is a short drive away, so an evening in town is easy to fit in. Konyaaltı beach and the western side of the city take a little longer, as you cross Antalya from east to west.

You can also book a car with driver for an evening out or a day trip and agree the pick-up and return times when booking. Comparing Lara with a quieter resort town further along the coast? Read Lara or Belek: which to choose – Belek is only about ≈40 minutes from the airport, but further from the city.

The return: a short drive, but not a late one

Plan to be at Antalya Airport about 2–3 hours before your flight; check your airline’s own recommendation too. The drive from Lara is only ≈20 minutes and from Kundu ≈26, so a sensible pick-up time is roughly your arrival target plus 30–40 minutes, with extra reserve on busy summer days.

Do not cut it too fine just because the airport is close: queues at check-in and security, not the road, decide whether you are relaxed or rushing. For very early departures, our tips on early-morning flight transfers help. Hotels set their own check-out times, so for an evening flight ask reception about a late check-out or luggage storage.

Booking in practice

Send your flight number, landing time, hotel name, number of passengers and children’s ages on WhatsApp or through the booking form. You receive a fixed-price quote within 1 minute. You can book the return trip in the same message, so both legs are arranged before you fly. Payment is in the vehicle, in cash, or by card if agreed in advance.
