Bitez Beach Transfer: How to Get There by Private Car

Bitez is a small resort on the southern coast of the Bodrum peninsula, set around a sheltered bay just west of Gümbet. The water close to the shore is shallow and usually calm in the morning, which makes the beach comfortable for children and for relaxed swimming. A pleasant promenade runs along the bay, lined with beach clubs, cafés and restaurants where you can spend the whole day.

In the afternoon a steady breeze often blows into the bay, and Bitez has long been a place for windsurfing and other sailing sports. Behind the coast, the village of Bitez is surrounded by gardens and orchards, including the mandarin trees the Bodrum area is known for. The atmosphere is calmer than in neighbouring Gümbet, which many families appreciate.

From Milas-Bodrum Airport (BJV) Bitez is about 42 km away, roughly 46 minutes by road. The route follows the main Milas–Bodrum road along the Güllük Gulf, crosses the hills of the peninsula towards Bodrum and then continues west past Gümbet to Bitez.

Guests often come from Bodrum town and Gümbet, which are only a short drive away, and from Ortakent, Turgutreis, Akyarlar, Yalıkavak or Torba further around the peninsula. In high summer the roads around Bodrum can be busy in the evening, so plan some extra time. Your driver drops you at the nearest accessible point to the beach or at your hotel entrance, and picks you up there again at the agreed time.

Come in the morning if you want the calmest water and a quieter promenade; the late afternoon is lovely too, when the heat softens and the breeze picks up. Bring sun cream, a hat and water; most shade is under the umbrellas of the beach clubs. If you want to try windsurfing, ask the local centres on the beach.

Bitez combines easily with Bodrum town, where the Castle of St Peter, the marina and the ancient theatre of Halicarnassus are a short drive away. Many visitors also stay on for dinner along the Bitez promenade before heading back.
