From the coast up to the snow
Few places let you land by the Mediterranean and be on a ski slope the same day. The Saklıkent Ski Center sits in the Taurus Mountains above Antalya, about 70 km from the airport, and the drive normally takes around 1 hour 35 minutes. Please note: this is the ski resort in the mountains west of Antalya, not the Saklıkent gorge near Fethiye, which is a different place altogether.
The first part of the route crosses the plain around the city; then the road climbs through bends and forest into the mountains. Skiing here is a winter-only affair and depends on snow, so check conditions before you travel.
Mountain road and winter weather
The upper section is a winding mountain road, and in snow or fog the driver will take it slowly. Allow extra time on days with fresh snowfall; the drive time above is for normal conditions.
