Yalıkavak at a glance
Yalıkavak lies on the north-west coast of the Bodrum peninsula, in a wide bay that looks out towards the Aegean islands. Once a modest village of fishermen and sponge divers, it has become one of the most fashionable corners of the Bodrum area. The big change came with its marina, which draws large yachts, designer boutiques and well-known restaurants, while the old village centre behind it keeps its narrow streets, small shops and seafront cafés.
On the ridge above the bay stand the old stone windmills, a classic Bodrum landmark and a good spot for the view at sunset. Guests are a mix of couples and families who want a polished but relaxed holiday, sailors and yacht owners, and people who own or rent villas on the slopes around the bay. It is quieter at night than Bodrum or Gümbet, with the evening life centred on the marina and the waterfront.

From Milas-Bodrum Airport to Yalıkavak
The trip from Milas-Bodrum Airport (BJV) covers about 55 km and takes around 50 minutes in normal traffic. The driver follows the main road south-west towards Bodrum, then leaves it before the town and crosses the hilly interior of the peninsula to reach the north-west coast. The road through the hills is good but has curves, and in high summer the junctions near Bodrum can slow things a little.
Your flight is tracked from take-off, so the driver knows your real arrival time and waiting on delays is free. Once you are through passport control and have your luggage, the driver is waiting in the arrivals hall with a name sign. He loads your bags and drives you directly to Yalıkavak; the vehicle is private, so there are no other passengers and no hotel stops on the way.
Where guests stay in Yalıkavak
Around the marina and the village centre you find boutique hotels and apartments within walking distance of restaurants and shops. Along the shore on either side of the bay there are beach hotels and resorts with sun decks, and the hillsides above are covered with villa estates and private houses, many with pools and wide sea views. Smaller coves nearby, such as Tilkicik and Kudur, add a few more secluded places to stay.
The driver brings you to the door of your hotel or villa; if you are joining a yacht, he can take you to the marina entrance. For villas on the hills, please send us the exact address or a location pin. Where a gate or a very steep lane stops the vehicle, the driver uses the nearest accessible point and helps you with the luggage.
