The drive from Dalaman Airport (DLM) to Çalış is about 49 km and takes around 50 minutes, depending on traffic and your exact address. You head east on the main road through pine forest, pass Göcek and go through the Göcek tunnel, then continue down towards the Fethiye bay. Çalış is reached just before Fethiye centre, so you turn off towards the beach without crossing the town.

Most accommodation in Çalış is low-rise and close to the sea. Along and just behind the promenade you will find small and mid-sized hotels, many of them family-run, as well as apartment complexes with pools that suit self-catering families. Further back from the beach, quieter residential streets are full of holiday flats and villas, many owned by long-stay visitors.

When you book, send us the name of your hotel or the exact address of your apartment or villa. The driver takes you to the door; on the pedestrian stretch of the seafront, where cars cannot drive, you are dropped at the nearest point the road allows.

Çalış is a beach base, but Fethiye and the wider coast are close by. With a private car and driver you can easily reach:

• Şövalye Island – the small island in the bay opposite the beach.
• Ölüdeniz – the Blue Lagoon and paragliding from Babadağ.

• Göcek – the yachting bay on the way back towards Dalaman.

As the drive takes about 50 minutes, a 14:00 departure usually means a pick-up at around 10:40.
