Where people go from İzmir Airport

İzmir Adnan Menderes Airport (ADB) sits south of the city, which makes it a convenient gateway to two very different holiday coasts. To the west lies the Çeşme peninsula with Urla, Alaçatı and Çeşme; to the south lie Sığacık, Selçuk (Ephesus) and Kuşadası. Many travellers also simply head into İzmir itself for a city break along the seafront.

Typical drive times from the airport by private car:

  • İzmir city centre: ≈ 18 km, ≈ 30 min
  • Urla: ≈ 42 km, ≈ 40 min
  • Sığacık: ≈ 48 km, ≈ 50 min
  • Selçuk / Ephesus: ≈ 55 km, ≈ 50 min
  • Kuşadası: ≈ 75 km, ≈ 70 min
  • Alaçatı: ≈ 78 km, ≈ 65 min
  • Çeşme: ≈ 85 km, ≈ 70 min

These are typical times on a normal day. In high season, and especially on summer weekends, allow extra time.

Meet & greet at ADB arrivals

Once you have collected your luggage and passed through customs, walk out into the arrivals hall. Your driver waits there holding a sign with your name, helps with your bags and walks you to the vehicle parked nearby. There is no queue at a taxi rank and no need to explain your address in Turkish.

We track your flight, so if it lands late the driver adjusts and waits for you free of charge. It helps to send your flight number when you book, plus a mobile number that works on WhatsApp once you land. If you cannot find your driver straight away, message us and we will connect you.

Çeşme peninsula: Urla, Alaçatı and Çeşme

The road west from the airport runs along the motorway towards Çeşme, so the peninsula is easy to reach. Urla, the closest stop, is known for its vineyards, olive groves and relaxed village feel. Alaçatı is famous for its stone houses, windmills, boutique hotels and the steady wind that draws windsurfers. Çeşme itself has a harbour, an old castle and clear, cool water along beaches such as Ilıca.

The peninsula is a favourite summer escape for people from İzmir and Istanbul, which affects traffic. On summer Friday evenings the road towards Çeşme gets busy, and on Sunday afternoons and evenings the flow reverses back to the city. If your flight home is on a Sunday in July or August, leave your hotel with a generous buffer. For more on the area, see our Çeşme and Alaçatı travel guide or check the İzmir Airport to Çeşme route.

South coast: Sığacık, Ephesus and Kuşadası

Heading south, Sığacık is a small walled harbour village near the ancient city of Teos, popular for quiet stays and seafood by the water. Selçuk is the base for visiting Ephesus, one of the best-preserved ancient cities in the Mediterranean; many visitors stay a night or two here. Kuşadası is a lively resort town with a cruise port, a marina and beaches on both sides of town.

A private transfer is handy here because you can combine stops: land at ADB, visit Ephesus on the way, and arrive in Kuşadası in the afternoon. Tell us your plan when you book so the route and timing can be agreed in advance. Read more in our Ephesus and Kuşadası guide.

Which vehicle to choose

All transfers are private: only your group travels in the vehicle, and the price is fixed per vehicle, not per person. Choose by group size and luggage:

  • Minivan: 1–6 passengers, a practical choice for families and couples with suitcases.
  • VIP Mercedes-Benz Vito: 1–7 passengers, more comfort for longer drives such as Çeşme or Kuşadası.
  • Mercedes Sprinter: 8–16 passengers, for groups, weddings and friends travelling together.

Child seats are free on request; just tell us the children's ages. Windsurf bags, golf bags or bulky prams are fine too, as long as you mention them when booking so we can pick the right vehicle. See the fleet page for details.

Price and payment

The price is agreed before the trip and does not change for traffic, night arrivals or luggage. There is no night surcharge and no luggage fee. You pay in the vehicle, in cash, or by card if agreed in advance; there is no prepayment, and cancellation is free. For current fares, see the live prices on each route page.

How to book your İzmir airport transfer

Booking takes a couple of minutes, 24/7, on WhatsApp or through the booking form. Send us:

  1. Your arrival date, flight number and landing time.
  2. Your hotel or address (Çeşme, Alaçatı, Kuşadası, etc.).
  3. Number of adults and children, plus children's ages for seats.
  4. Number of suitcases and any special items.

You receive a fixed-price quote within 1 minute. You can book the return transfer at the same time, which saves a message later in the holiday. On the way back, plan to leave so you reach ADB well before check-in closes, and add time on summer Sundays from the Çeşme peninsula.
