Yahşi Beach Transfer: How to Get There by Private Car

Ortakent is one of the older villages of the Bodrum peninsula, set a little inland among gardens, while its coastal part, Yahşi, stretches along a wide bay facing the islands to the south. The beach here is long by Bodrum standards, with a mix of sand and fine shingle, and the water stays shallow for some distance from the shore.

This makes Yahşi a family favourite: children can paddle safely, and there is room to spread out even in summer. The seafront is lined with hotels, beach clubs and restaurants, and the mood is calmer than in Gümbet or Bodrum town. In the evening the promenade is a pleasant place for a walk and a meal by the sea.

From Milas-Bodrum Airport (BJV) the beach is about 44 km away, roughly 44 minutes by road. The route follows the main Milas–Bodrum road across the peninsula and then turns west towards Ortakent before reaching the coast.

From Bitez, Gümbet and Bodrum town the beach is a short drive east to west; from Turgutreis, Akyarlar, Gümüşlük or Yalıkavak you come across the western part of the peninsula. Your driver drops you at the nearest accessible point to the beach or at your hotel entrance and collects you there at the agreed time.

In July and August come in the morning for calm water and the coolest sand, or in the late afternoon when the heat softens; the afternoon breeze can bring some waves. Bring sun cream, hats, water and toys for the children; shade is mostly under the umbrellas of the beach clubs.

Yahşi combines well with neighbouring Bitez, a visit to Bodrum town with the Castle of St Peter and the marina, or a sunset dinner in the fishing village of Gümüşlük at the western tip of the peninsula.

The price is fixed per vehicle, not per person, so a family with grandparents or two families together travel comfortably in one car. Child seats are free on request.

If you are staying in Ortakent or Yahşi, we meet you in the arrivals hall at Milas-Bodrum Airport with a name sign and drive you straight to your hotel. We track your flight and wait free of charge if it is delayed; there is no night surcharge and no luggage fee, which helps with pushchairs and beach gear.

On your return day, plan to be at the airport 2–3 hours before an international flight; check your airline's advice. The drive is under an hour, but we agree a pick-up time with a comfortable margin in high season.
