Camel Beach Bodrum Transfer: Private Car to Bağla Bay

Bağla is a small cove on the south side of the Bodrum peninsula, between Ortakent and Karaincir, framed by green hills. Camel Beach takes its name from the camels that have long been part of the scene here and have become the beach's trademark. The shore is sandy, the water is clear and the bay is fairly sheltered, so the sea is often calm in the morning.

The cove is smaller and more relaxed than the busy beaches closer to Bodrum town, and is a favourite for a lazy day of swimming and sunbathing. The beach is run largely by beach clubs and cafés, so sunbeds, umbrellas and food are usually close at hand in season.

From Milas-Bodrum Airport (BJV) Camel Beach is about 44 km away, roughly 44 minutes by road. The route follows the main Milas–Bodrum road along the Güllük Gulf and across the hills of the peninsula, then heads west towards Ortakent and turns down a smaller road to Bağla Bay.

Guests come from all around the peninsula: Ortakent and Yahşi are nearby, Bitez, Gümbet and Bodrum town are further east, and Turgutreis, Akyarlar and Karaincir lie to the west. The last stretch down to the cove is narrower and winding, and parking near the beach can fill up in summer, so a car with driver is a comfortable way to arrive. Your driver drops you at the nearest accessible point to the beach.

In July and August arrive in the morning, when the bay is calmest and before the midday heat; the late afternoon is pleasant too. Bring sun cream, a hat and water. The sea floor is sandy near the shore, which is comfortable for children, but always keep an eye on young swimmers.

You can easily combine Camel Beach with other bays on the southern coast, such as Karaincir or Akyarlar, or finish the day with sunset and dinner in Turgutreis or on the Ortakent coast. Tell us your plan and we arrange the stops.

On your return day, plan to be at the airport 2–3 hours before an international flight; check your airline's advice. The drive takes around 45 minutes, so in high season we agree a pick-up time with a comfortable margin.
