Lara to Mahmutlar Transfer

The drive is about 148 km and usually takes around 2 hours 15 minutes. Because Lara sits east of the city centre, near the airport, there is no need to cross Antalya: the car joins the D400 and heads east past Belek, the Side and Manavgat area and on to Alanya. Mahmutlar is the next resort along, a short distance beyond Alanya town.

In summer, expect slower traffic through Manavgat and in Alanya itself, especially in the late afternoon. Leaving Lara in the late morning normally gets you to Mahmutlar early in the afternoon. For most of the way the Taurus mountains rise on the left and the sea appears now and then on the right.

Lara is known for its sandy beach and big resort hotels close to the city, while Mahmutlar has a calmer, more residential feel, with a long beach, many holiday apartments and the castle peninsula of Alanya just down the road. Combining the two gives you a lively first week and a relaxed second one.

The timing fits well: check out of your Lara hotel in the morning, and you reach Mahmutlar around the time rooms are usually ready in the afternoon. If you get there earlier, ask about a luggage room or early check-in. Staying in a rented flat? Let us know when the owner will hand over the keys and we will set the pick-up time accordingly.
