The long way back to Antalya
Leaving the quiet bay, the route runs inland past the Milas–Bodrum area, continues in the Muğla direction and then crosses the Taurus range eastwards before dropping down to the Antalya plain. Expect to spend most of a day in the vehicle.
Please keep in mind that Milas-Bodrum Airport is only about 45 km from Gündoğan, close to 48 minutes away, and is generally the better place to fly from if a suitable flight exists. This transfer is meant for those whose return ticket is from Antalya anyway: a cheaper or direct connection, a few final days near Antalya, a group sharing one flight, or a tour or cruise starting there.
When to leave: an evening flight example
