Torba is a sheltered bay just north-east of Bodrum town, at the entrance to the Bodrum peninsula in Muğla province. Coming from the airport, it is the first resort on the peninsula, which makes it the closest bay to Milas-Bodrum Airport. A small harbour with fishing boats and wooden gulets sits at the heart of the bay, lined with seafront restaurants, while hotels, holiday villages and villas climb the pine-covered slopes on both sides.

The water in the bay is usually calm and the atmosphere is relaxed rather than lively, so Torba is popular with families, couples and guests who like a quieter base with easy access to everything. Bodrum's castle, marina and nightlife are only a short drive away, and the north-coast bays begin just beyond the hill. Many guests choose Torba precisely because the airport run is so short.

The route is about 33 km and takes around 37 minutes. From the airport, the car follows the main Milas–Bodrum road south-west along the Güllük gulf and through the hills, then turns off towards the coast just before Bodrum town and drops down into the bay. It is an easy, mostly wide road; only the final stretch to hillside hotels and villas is narrower and steeper.

Once you have collected your luggage, your driver is waiting in the arrivals hall with a name sign and helps you to the vehicle. We track your flight, so an early or late landing simply moves the pick-up, and there is no charge for waiting on delays. Arriving at night costs the same as by day, and there is no luggage fee for extra suitcases, a pushchair or golf and diving gear.

Accommodation around the bay falls into a few types:

• Larger resort hotels – spread over the slopes, often with their own stretch of shore and jetties.
• Small hotels by the harbour – close to the restaurants and the seafront promenade.

The drive back takes about 37 minutes, one of the shortest airport runs on the peninsula. Plan to be at the airport about 2–3 hours before an international flight — check your airline's advice. For a 12:00 flight, for example, a pick-up in Torba at around 08:45 works well. The driver comes to the same point where you were dropped off.
