Çenger belongs to the Manavgat district, although it lies well east of Manavgat town, on the stretch of coast between Kızılot and Okurcalar. It is close to the area of Alara Han, the historic Seljuk caravanserai that gives this part of the coast its best-known landmark. Alanya town is further east along the same coast road.

Plan for about 88 km and around 98 minutes on the road. From the airport the driver heads east on the main coastal highway, passes the turn-offs for Belek and Side, then crosses Manavgat and continues past Kızılağaç and Kızılot until Çenger. It is a long, straightforward road with the Taurus Mountains on one side and the sea never far away.

Çenger sits in the middle of the coast, which makes day trips easy in both directions:

• Alara Han, the caravanserai close by, a short drive from your hotel.
• Alanya to the east, with its castle on the rocky peninsula, Cleopatra Beach and the harbour.
• Side to the west, with the ancient theatre and the Temple of Apollo by the sea.
• Manavgat Waterfall and a boat trip on the Manavgat River.

From Çenger the return drive is long, so do not cut it fine. Be at Antalya Airport about 2.5 to 3 hours before an international flight (check your airline's advice). For an 11:30 departure, a pick-up at reception around 06:30 is a sensible example. Book the return together with your arrival in the same message and you are set for both legs.
