The tour at a glance
Antalya Aquarium stands near Konyaaltı Beach, west of the city centre. Its best-known feature is a long walk-through tunnel, one of the longest of its kind in the world, where sharks, rays and shoals of fish swim above and around you. Themed tanks show life from different seas and rivers, from Mediterranean species to tropical reefs. The complex also has other themed attractions; which areas your visit includes is confirmed when you book.
Kaleiçi, the walled old town, is the historic heart of Antalya. Narrow lanes lead past restored Ottoman houses with wooden bay windows, small mosques, boutique hotels and craft shops. Well-known landmarks include Hadrian's Gate, built in honour of the Roman emperor's visit in the 2nd century, the fluted Yivli Minaret from the Seljuk period and the round Hıdırlık Tower above the sea. Below the walls lies the old harbour, now a marina full of excursion boats, framed by cliffs.
Because half of the day is indoors, this plan works well on very hot, windy or rainy days. It suits families with children, older travellers and anyone who wants an easy-going day in the city.
Booking
How the day runs
The trip takes about 6 hours door to door. A typical flow:
- Pickup from your hotel and the drive into Antalya. From Lara, Konyaaltı or the city it is short; from Belek or Kemer it is moderate; from Side or Alanya it takes longer.
- Visit to Antalya Aquarium in Konyaaltı at your own pace.
- Drive to the old town and a walk through the lanes of Kaleiçi past its main landmarks.
- A stop at a viewpoint above the marina for photos of the harbour and the Beydağları mountains across the bay.
- Free time for lunch, coffee or shopping, then the drive back to your hotel.
The order of the aquarium and the old town can be switched depending on the time of day and traffic.
Good to know
- Wear comfortable shoes. Kaleiçi has cobbled, sloping lanes and some steps down to the harbour.
- In summer, bring a hat, sun cream and water for the old town; the aquarium itself is air-conditioned.
- Pushchairs are easy in the aquarium but harder on the steep old-town streets.
- Older travellers can keep the walk short and enjoy a café while others explore.
- Photos in the aquarium work best without flash, which also disturbs the animals.
- Bring cash or a card for lunch, souvenirs and shops.

Pickup and transport
We pick you up from your hotel and bring you back, from all resort areas of the Antalya region: Lara, Kundu, Konyaaltı, Antalya city, Belek, Kadriye, Kemer, Beldibi, Side, Manavgat and Alanya. Transport is in our own vehicles: a Minivan (VW Caravelle class), a VIP Mercedes-Benz Vito or a Mercedes Sprinter for larger groups.
The pickup time depends on your hotel area and is given when you book. A private option with the vehicle for your group only can be arranged. Child seats are free on request.
