Kaleiçi is Antalya's historic centre, a walled quarter of narrow lanes that runs down to the old harbour. It is one of the closest places to stay from the airport: the drive is about 16 km and usually takes around 25 minutes, a little longer at rush hour when city traffic builds up.

For a city break that means you can land, collect your bags and be in the old town well within the hour, without working out bus routes or haggling at a taxi rank.

Kaleiçi was built long before cars, and many of its streets are narrow, cobbled or closed to traffic. Vehicles cannot always reach a hotel door in the old town, so the driver may stop at the nearest accessible point and you walk the last stretch with your luggage.

Check-out time is set by the hotel, so ask reception about late check-out if you fly in the evening. Be ready at the agreed time; the driver will tell you where to meet if the car cannot come right to the entrance. Although the drive is short, allow for city traffic: for a 10:00 international flight, a pick-up around 07:00 is comfortable. You can book the return together with your arrival.
