Ovacık is a green village on the road that climbs from Fethiye towards Hisarönü and Ölüdeniz, in Muğla province. It lies at the foot of Babadağ, the mountain that rises steeply above the coast, and is surrounded by pine woods, gardens and small fields. The name means "little plain", which suits it well: a gentle, open setting with mountain views on every side.

Ovacık is the calmer neighbour of Hisarönü. The busy restaurants and bars are a short walk or ride away, yet the village itself stays peaceful, which appeals to couples, families with young children and guests renting a villa for a week or two. Walkers like it too, as the Lycian Way begins close by, and many long-term residents from Britain and elsewhere have made their home here, giving the village a friendly, lived-in feel.

The journey covers about 61 km and takes around 65 minutes. From the terminal the road runs east past Dalaman town and through wooded hills to the Göcek tunnel, then follows the shore of the Gulf of Fethiye towards the town. Just before Fethiye centre you turn off onto the Ölüdeniz road, which climbs steadily through the pines; Ovacık is the first village you reach on the plateau, a few minutes before Hisarönü.

When you leave baggage claim, your driver is ready in the arrivals hall with your name on a sign and helps load the luggage. Because we track your flight, an early or late landing is no problem: the pick-up time adapts and waiting on delays is free. There is no extra charge for a night arrival, and walking poles, rucksacks or extra bags travel with no luggage fee.

Ovacık has no single centre, so please send us the exact name and address of your accommodation:

• Along the main road – small hotels and apartment complexes with easy access to Hisarönü and the beach road.
• The quiet lanes – family-run hotels and holiday homes set among gardens and pine trees.
• The slopes below Babadağ – private villas, many with pools and wide views, sometimes up steep, narrow lanes.

The driver brings you to your hotel entrance or villa gate. If a lane is too narrow for the vehicle, we stop at the nearest accessible point and help you with the bags. For a villa that is hard to find, a map pin on WhatsApp is the easiest way to guide us.

From Ovacık the best of the Fethiye area is close at hand:

• Ölüdeniz – the Blue Lagoon and its long pebble beach, a short drive down the hill.
• Babadağ – the mountain above the village, the launch point for tandem paragliding flights over the lagoon.
• Hisarönü – next door, with its restaurants, shops and evening life.
• Kayaköy – the abandoned stone village in the next valley, reachable by car or on foot.
• Fethiye – the harbour, marina, fish market and the rock tomb of Amyntas above the town.

Since the drive back is only about an hour, there is no need to leave at dawn for a midday flight. Plan to be at Dalaman Airport about 2–3 hours before an international flight — check your airline's advice. For a 15:30 departure, for example, a pick-up in Ovacık at around 11:30 works well; on busy summer weekends a little extra margin is wise.
