Lara is the beach district on the eastern edge of Antalya city, stretching along the coast between the urban neighbourhoods and the resort zone of Kundu. Its long sandy shore, known as Lara Beach, is one of the most popular in the region, and at its western end the Düden river drops over the cliffs straight into the sea, forming the well-known Lower Düden waterfall.

Lara mixes two worlds: a residential city district with shops, restaurants and parks, and a strip of large beach hotels close to the sand. That makes it popular with families, couples and short-break travellers who want a beach holiday but also like to be close to the city, its old town and its shopping streets.

Lara is the closest resort area to the airport. The distance is roughly 14 km and the drive normally takes about 20 minutes, a little more at busy times of day. The route runs south from the airport through the eastern districts of the city and down to the coast road along the beach.

What happens when you land:

• We follow your flight in real time, so the driver is there even if you land early or late.
• Once you have collected your luggage, the driver is waiting in the arrivals hall with a sign showing your name.

Because Lara sits right next to the city, many of Antalya's highlights are only a short ride away by private car:

• The Lower Düden waterfall, where the river falls into the Mediterranean, is practically on Lara's doorstep.
• Kaleiçi, the walled old town with its Roman harbour and Hadrian's Gate, is close by.
• The Upper Düden waterfall and its park lie on the northern side of the city.
• The ancient cities of Perge and Aspendos make an easy half-day or full-day trip to the east.
• Konyaaltı beach and its promenade are on the other side of the city, with mountain views.

On departure day, aim to be at the airport about 2.5 to 3 hours before an international flight, and check your airline's advice. As the drive is only around 20 minutes, a pick-up about 3 to 3.5 hours before take-off is usually enough. For a 12:00 flight, for example, we would typically collect you at about 09:00.
