Kaş is a small harbour town on the Lycian coast, in the far west of Antalya province. It has kept the character of a fishing town: whitewashed houses and bougainvillea-covered lanes climb up from a little harbour, and Lycian rock tombs are carved into the cliffs above. Near the centre stands the ancient theatre of Antiphellos, facing the sea, and on clear days the Greek island of Meis (Kastellorizo) lies just across the water.

Kaş is known above all for its clear sea and is one of Turkey's best-known places for diving and snorkelling. There are no long sandy beaches in town; instead people swim from small coves, rocky platforms and beach clubs. Visitors tend to be independent travellers, couples, divers and families who prefer boutique hotels, guesthouses and villas to large resorts.

The distance from Antalya Airport (AYT) to Kaş is about 200 km and the drive usually takes around 3 hours. The route follows the coast past Kemer, then crosses the mountains towards Kumluca and continues through Finike and Demre before running along the sea to Kaş. Much of the way has views over the Mediterranean, and the last stretch along the coast is especially beautiful.

Because it is a long transfer, it helps to travel in a comfortable private vehicle with your own driver rather than a shared shuttle that stops at many hotels. Your driver waits in the arrivals hall with a name sign and helps with the luggage. We track your flight, so the pick-up adapts to early or late landings and waiting on delays is free. Some lanes in the old centre and on the hills are narrow and steep, so in a few places the vehicle stops at the nearest accessible point and the driver helps with your bags. Kaş is a good base for some of the most famous sights of the Lycian coast. Popular trips by private car include Kaputaş beach, a turquoise cove at the foot of a gorge between Kaş and Kalkan, and Demre, with the Church of St Nicholas and the rock tombs of ancient Myra. From Üçağız, boats run to the sunken city of Kekova and the castle village of Kaleköy (Simena).

Further west, you can visit the long beach and ruins of Patara, the narrow Saklıkent Gorge and the pretty town of Kalkan. Plan the return carefully, as the drive back takes around 3 hours. Aim to be at Antalya Airport about 2.5–3 hours before an international flight; check your airline's advice. For example, for a flight at 14:00, a pick-up from Kaş at around 08:00 is sensible. We are happy to suggest a pick-up time on WhatsApp.
