Antalya Airport to Finike, Kumluca & Demre Transfer Guide

Beyond Olympos the Lycian coast becomes quieter: farming towns, a small marina and the ruins of ancient Myra. From Antalya Airport, Kumluca is a little under two hours away by private transfer, Finike a little over two, and Demre around two hours forty. This guide walks through the road stage by stage.

Stage 1: along the Kemer coast

The journey starts with the familiar road west from Antalya Airport (AYT) and then south along the Kemer coast, passing the resort villages strung out between the mountains and the sea. Tekirova is the last of them. Up to this point the road runs between the mountains and the sea, a scenic opening to the trip.

Stage 2: over the mountains to Kumluca

Past Tekirova the road leaves the shoreline and climbs inland through the mountains. This is the stretch that separates the busy Kemer coast from the quieter Lycian towns beyond. The side roads to Çıralı, Olympos and Adrasan branch off here towards the sea; if one of those is your destination, see our Olympos and Çıralı transfer guide.

The main road then descends to Kumluca, about 95 km and around 112 minutes from the airport. Kumluca is a working farming town, surrounded by greenhouses, and lies inland from Adrasan. Visitors come here for family, for village houses in the area, or as a stop on the way further west. Live prices: Antalya Airport to Kumluca.

Stage 3: Finike, the marina town

From Kumluca the road continues to Finike, roughly 115 km and around 130 minutes from AYT in total. Finike is a small town with a marina, and in Turkey it is known for its oranges. It appeals to sailors, long-stay visitors and anyone who prefers a small, quiet town to a resort strip. See Antalya Airport to Finike for prices, or the Finike transfer page.

Stage 4: along the shore to Demre

The final stretch follows the coast to Demre, about 145 km and around two hours and forty minutes (160 min) from the airport. Demre stands on the site of ancient Myra, whose rock tombs carved into the cliff face and ancient theatre are the main sights. The town is also home to the Church of St Nicholas, linked with the saint who inspired the Santa Claus story. Boat trips to Kekova, with its sunken ruins, leave from the coast near Demre, which makes the town a practical base for that excursion. Prices are on Antalya Airport to Demre.

Which town suits which kind of stay?

The three towns are close together on the map but serve quite different visitors, so it helps to know which one matches your plans before you book a bed.

  • Kumluca is the most practical and least touristy of the three. It suits people visiting relatives, those who have rented a village house in the countryside, and travellers who want to reach Adrasan's quiet bay from an inland town.
  • Finike suits sailors arriving at or leaving from the marina, long-stay visitors and anyone after a small seaside town with an everyday rhythm.
  • Demre suits culture lovers. The rock tombs and theatre of Myra and the Church of St Nicholas are in and around the town, and the boat trips to Kekova start nearby, so you can fill several days without a long drive.

If you plan to move between towns during your stay, or continue to Kaş at the end, the same private transfer service can link them; ask for a quote for each leg.

Should you fly to Antalya for this coast?

For Kumluca, Finike and Demre, Antalya is the natural airport: the whole route is one continuous road from the terminal. To put the distances in context, Kaş lies beyond Demre at about 200 km and around 180 minutes from AYT; our Kaş and Kalkan transfer guide covers that part of the coast.

A drive of two to nearly three hours is long enough that a private vehicle makes a difference. There is no changing between buses, and the car takes you to the door of your hotel, guesthouse or house rather than a town centre stop.

Planning tips for a longer transfer

  • Late arrivals: there is no night surcharge, so a midnight landing costs the same as a midday one. Your driver tracks the flight and waits free of charge if it is delayed.
  • Children: on a two-hour-plus drive, proper child seats matter. They are free on request; give the children's ages when you book.
  • Village addresses: if you are staying in a rented house outside town, send the exact location or a map pin when booking.
  • Return trip: allow the full drive time plus time at the airport. From Demre that means leaving well before you would from a Kemer hotel.

Booking and the vehicles

Ask for a quote on WhatsApp or by e-mail and you will have a fixed price per vehicle within a minute. Nothing is paid in advance: you pay in the vehicle, in cash, or by card if agreed when booking, and cancellation is free. There is no luggage fee. The car carries only your group, with no stops at other hotels.

Choose a Minivan for 1-6 passengers, a VIP Mercedes-Benz Vito for 1-7, or a Mercedes Sprinter for 8-16. Every transfer runs under a D2 permit from the Ministry of Transport, with passenger seat insurance. Area pages: Demre transfers and Kumluca transfers.
