Moonlight Beach Kemer Transfer: How to Get There by Car

Moonlight Beach (Ay Işığı Plajı in Turkish) curves around a small bay just south of Kemer marina, in the centre of the town. The shore is a mix of fine pebbles and sand, the water is famously clear, and the pine-covered Taurus Mountains rise straight behind the coast. Behind the beach, Moonlight Park offers shade, lawns and cafés, which makes it popular with families.

Because it is in town, everything is close: the marina with its yachts and excursion boats, the shopping streets and restaurants of Kemer, and the open-air Yörük Park on the headland, which shows the traditional nomad life of the region. It is an easy, lively beach rather than a hidden cove.

From Antalya Airport (AYT) Moonlight Beach is about 58 km away, roughly 1 hour 25 minutes by road. The route follows the D400 coastal highway southwest through Antalya and Konyaaltı, then through the tunnels and along the coast past Beldibi and Göynük into Kemer.

Along the Kemer coast the resort villages run north to south: Beldibi, Göynük, Kemer, Kiriş, Çamyuva and Tekirova. From any of them it is a short drive to the town centre. The streets around the marina and the park are partly pedestrian, so your driver drops you at the nearest accessible point by Moonlight Park or the marina and picks you up there again.

In July and August, come in the morning, when the sea is calm and the beach less busy, or in the late afternoon, when the light over the bay is soft and the town comes alive. Midday is hot, so plan a shady break in the park.

Moonlight Beach combines well with Kemer's other sights: a walk around the marina, the Yörük Park, Göynük Canyon a short drive north, the ancient city of Phaselis to the south or the cable car up Mount Tahtalı near Tekirova. Boat trips from the marina are booked with local operators.
