The tour at a glance

Suluada is a small, uninhabited island off Adrasan, on the coast of Kumluca district south-west of Antalya. Its name means "island with water" and comes from a freshwater spring on the island, unusual for such a small rocky place. The island is known for its white limestone shores and sandy patches that turn the shallow water a bright turquoise, which is why it is often compared to tropical islands.

The area lies on the edge of the protected coastline around Olympos and Beydağları, so there are no big resorts here: pine-covered hills, steep cliffs and quiet bays. The boat leaves from Adrasan harbour, a small fishing and holiday village, and the day is built around cruising, swimming and relaxing on deck.

The tour suits couples, families and friends who want a slower beach-and-sea day rather than sightseeing. Confident swimmers will enjoy the deeper bays; non-swimmers can stay on board or paddle in the shallow spots.

How the day runs

The tour takes about 9 to 10 hours in total. A typical day looks like this:

  • Morning pickup from your hotel and the drive to Adrasan. From Kemer the road is shorter; from Antalya city, Lara or Belek allow roughly two hours each way, and longer from Side or Alanya.
  • Boarding at Adrasan harbour and cruising towards Suluada.
  • Several swimming stops in the bays around the island, chosen by the captain on the day according to wind and sea conditions.
  • A break for a meal during the cruise, as arranged by the boat team.
  • Return to the harbour in the afternoon and the drive back to your hotel.

The exact route and the number of stops are not fixed in advance, because sea conditions decide where the boat can anchor safely.

Good to know

  • Bring swimwear, a towel, high-factor sun cream, a hat and sunglasses. There is little shade in the bays.
  • Water shoes help on rocky shores and when climbing back onto the boat.
  • If you get seasick easily, take your usual remedy before boarding; the open sea between Adrasan and the island can be choppy.
  • Children should wear life jackets while swimming and stay with an adult. Older travellers should note that boarding and ladders need some balance.
  • A waterproof phone pouch is useful for photos of the turquoise water.
  • Keep a little cash for personal extras on board.

What is included (entrance tickets, meals, equipment) is confirmed when you book.

Pickup and transport

Transport is in our own vehicles: a Minivan (VW Caravelle class), a VIP Mercedes-Benz Vito or a Mercedes Sprinter for larger groups.

The pickup time depends on where your hotel is, since Adrasan is closer to Kemer than to Side or Alanya, and is given to you when you book. If you prefer, ask for a private option with the vehicle for your group only. Child seats are free on request.
