The tour at a glance
This route balances history and nature: two of the great ancient cities of Pamphylia in the morning, then a cool walk among trees and turquoise pools. All three places lie close to Antalya, so the drives between stops are short and the day feels relaxed. It suits couples, families and anyone who wants to see the famous ruins without spending the whole day on the road.
- Perge – once one of the leading cities of the region. You walk through a Hellenistic gate between two round towers, along a colonnaded street with a stone water channel down its centre, past Roman baths and the agora to a large, well-preserved stadium. The apostle Paul preached here on his first missionary journey.
- Aspendos – the best-preserved Roman theatre in the region, built in the 2nd century AD in the reign of Marcus Aurelius. The tall stage building, the arcaded gallery at the top and the acoustics give a vivid idea of how theatres looked in Roman times; remains of the city's aqueduct stand on the plain nearby.
- Kurşunlu Waterfall – a protected nature park where a stream falls into a deep green pool. A shaded path with steps leads around the water, past smaller cascades, pine trees and birdsong – a welcome change after the sunny ruins.
- Lunch stop – a break on the way to eat and rest before the waterfall.

How the day runs
The tour takes about 8 hours from pickup to drop-off. A typical day looks like this, with the order adjusted to traffic and the location of your hotel:
- Pickup from your hotel in the morning and drive to Perge, just east of Antalya.
- Walk through Perge: the gate towers, the colonnaded street, the baths and the stadium.
- Drive on to Aspendos and visit the theatre, with time to climb a few rows and test the acoustics.
- Lunch stop along the way.
- Kurşunlu Waterfall: a walk on the forest path around the pools and time to sit in the shade.
- Return drive to your hotel in the afternoon.
Because the distances are short, this tour fits well into a holiday with young children or a day when you do not want an early start and a late return.
Good to know
At Perge and Aspendos you walk on old stones, gravel and steps with very little shade. Comfortable closed shoes, light clothing, a hat, sunglasses and sunscreen are a must, and carry water, above all from June to September. At Kurşunlu the path has steps and can be damp near the water, so non-slip soles help; swimming is not part of the visit.
Photography is allowed at all stops; the theatre at Aspendos is most impressive from the upper rows, while the waterfall pool is at its greenest in the soft light of spring and autumn. Children usually love the waterfall park, and older travellers can enjoy the sites at their own pace and skip the steeper parts.
