Marmaris is a marina town set on a wide bay, and Dalaman is its nearest airport. From the terminal the road runs east through the countryside around Ortaca and Köyceğiz, then turns south over the hills and drops down to the coast at Marmaris. The whole trip is about 96 km and usually takes around 95 minutes; on busy summer afternoons allow a little more.
