Oba is the first neighbourhood you reach when you leave the centre of Alanya heading east. It begins only a few minutes from the town centre and runs from the coastal road up towards the green foothills of the Taurus Mountains. Once a quiet farming area with orchards and greenhouses, it has become one of Alanya's most popular residential districts, with modern apartment complexes, small hotels and a sandy beach on its seaward side.

What makes Oba appealing is the balance: it feels calmer than the busy streets around Cleopatra Beach, yet the castle, the harbour and the shops of central Alanya are practically next door. Many of the people who stay here own or rent apartments for the whole season, so you will hear many languages in the cafés and markets. Families, couples and long-stay visitors who like a local rhythm all feel at home in Oba.

The transfer covers about 131 km and usually takes around 126 minutes. Your driver follows the D400 coastal highway east, past Serik and Manavgat and along the long resort coast west of Alanya, then crosses Alanya to reach Oba on its eastern edge. At busy times of day the stretch through town can be slower, and that is already part of the estimate.

When you come out of baggage reclaim, your driver is waiting in the arrivals hall with a sign showing your name. We track your flight, so if you land early or late the pick-up adjusts automatically and waiting on delays is free. A night arrival is charged exactly the same as a daytime one, and there is no fee for extra luggage. It is a private car just for your group, with no detours to drop off other passengers.

Oba is a mix of residential streets, apartment complexes with gardens and pools, and a smaller number of hotels nearer the sea. The lower part, close to the coastal road and the beach, is the liveliest; the upper part towards the hills is quieter, with more space between the buildings and views over the bay.

Many complexes in Oba have similar names or sit on long, look-alike streets, so please send us the exact name of your residence or hotel, or the full address, when you book. The driver then takes you right to the entrance of your building rather than to a central drop-off point. If you are staying in a private apartment and will meet a key holder, just tell us and we will plan the arrival time with you.

From Oba, most of Alanya's highlights are a short private drive away:

• Alanya Castle – the fortress walls on the rocky peninsula, with wide views over both bays.
• Red Tower and the harbour – the town's landmark tower and the starting point for boat trips along the coast.
• Cleopatra Beach and Damlataş Cave – Alanya's best-known beach and the cave beside it.
• Alanya cable car – a quick ride up towards the castle from near Cleopatra Beach.
• Dim Cave – a large dripstone cave in the hills a short drive inland.

For the way back, plan to be at Antalya Airport about 2.5–3 hours before an international flight — check your airline's advice. With a drive of roughly two hours, a 16:00 departure means a pick-up in Oba at around 10:45; we confirm the exact time with you a day before.
