Kaleiçi Perfume Workshop in Antalya Old Town

Kaleiçi is the historic heart of Antalya: narrow lanes inside the old city walls, entered through the marble Hadrian's Gate, with restored Ottoman houses, small courtyards and craft shops. In one of these old-town workshops you step into a small perfume lab and learn how a fragrance is built, then make one yourself.

• Perfume lab – a short introduction to how perfumes are composed from top notes, heart notes and base notes, and how scents change on the skin over time.
• 90+ essences – a large palette of fragrance materials to test, from fresh citrus and herbs to florals such as rose and jasmine, and warm woods, spices and amber.
• Personal blend – with guidance from the workshop team you choose your favourites and mix them in your own proportions.
• Take-home bottle – your finished perfume is bottled for you to take with you.

The workshop itself lasts about 1.5 hours; with the transfers the total time depends on where your hotel is. A typical flow:

• Pickup from your hotel and drive into Antalya city centre.
• Short walk into Kaleiçi to the workshop.
• Introduction to the scent families and smelling the essences one by one, with time to note what you like.
• Blending your personal perfume, adjusting it until it feels right, and bottling it.
• Return drive to your hotel.

If you have time, a stroll through the old town lanes or down to the old harbour fits in easily before or after the workshop – just mention it when you book.

Smelling many essences in a row can tire the nose, so the session includes pauses; avoid wearing strong perfume or aftershave on the day so you can judge the scents clearly. If you have allergies or sensitive skin, tell the workshop team before you start and test carefully.

Kaleiçi has stone-paved, sloping lanes, so wear comfortable shoes. In summer bring a hat, sunscreen and water for the short walk. The activity is calm and seated, so it suits older travellers well; younger children may lose interest during the longer smelling part. Photos of your blending table make a nice souvenir. For the flight home, pack your bottle well in your luggage and check the liquid rules for hand baggage.

The pickup time depends on where your hotel is and is given to you when you book.

You travel in our own vehicles: a minivan of the VW Caravelle class, a VIP Mercedes-Benz Vito or a Mercedes Sprinter for larger parties. If you prefer a private version with only your own group, just ask. Child seats are free on request.
