Why a private car for day trips

Organised group tours are fine, but they follow a fixed timetable, collect guests from many hotels and spend time in shops you did not choose. A private car with a driver changes that:

  • Your own pace: stay longer where you like it, skip what does not interest you.
  • Easy with children: free child seats on request, breaks whenever you need them, no waiting for other passengers.
  • Door to door: pick-up at your hotel in Lara, Belek, Side, Kemer or Alanya and back again.
  • One price for the vehicle: not per person, which suits families and groups.

A private day is also flexible when plans change: if the children are tired after the waterfall, or the weather is hot, you simply adjust the order or head back earlier. Everything stays in the same private vehicle, so you can leave bags, towels and a change of clothes in the car between stops.

Waterfalls: Düden, Kurşunlu and Manavgat

  • Upper Düden Waterfall is in a green park in the north of Antalya city, with shady paths along the river and the falls. Closest to the city centre, Lara and Konyaaltı.
  • Lower Düden Waterfall drops straight from the cliffs into the sea at Lara. It is best seen from the clifftop park, and close to Lara and Kundu hotels.
  • Kurşunlu Waterfall lies in a shady nature park east of Antalya, between the city and Belek, with short walking trails around a pool. Easy from Lara, Kundu and Belek.
  • Manavgat Waterfall is a wide, low waterfall on the Manavgat River just outside Manavgat town. Closest to Side, Manavgat and Kızılot.

Ancient cities: Perge, Aspendos and Termessos

  • Perge is a large ancient city near Aksu, east of Antalya, with a long colonnaded street, a stadium and city gates. It is close to the airport and an easy half day from Lara, Kundu or Belek.
  • Aspendos is famous for its Roman theatre, one of the best preserved in the world. It lies between Belek and Side, so it fits well into a day from either resort, and it combines naturally with Perge.
  • Termessos is a mountain city in a national park north-west of Antalya. The ruins are spread across a steep slope and you reach them on foot, so wear good shoes and bring water. Closest to Antalya city and Konyaaltı.

Canyons and lakes: Köprülü Canyon and the Green Canyon

  • Köprülü Canyon is a national park inland from Belek and Side, where the Köprüçay River runs through a deep gorge. It is the best-known rafting area in the region; the road climbs into the mountains, so allow a full day.
  • Green Canyon (Yeşil Kanyon) is a dam lake in the mountains inland from Manavgat, known for its green water and boat trips between the steep canyon walls. Closest to Side, Manavgat and Kızılot, and easy to combine with the Manavgat waterfall.

For rafting or boat trips, ask the operator about the programme and suitable ages before the day.

Old towns: Side and Kaleiçi

  • Side old town sits on a small peninsula, with ancient ruins, the Temple of Apollo by the sea and a harbour full of restaurants. Easy from Side, Kumköy, Çolaklı and Manavgat; read more in our Side ancient city guide.
  • Kaleiçi is Antalya's historic old town, with narrow lanes, old houses, Hadrian's Gate and the old harbour below the city walls. Closest to Lara and Konyaaltı; see our Kaleiçi transfer guide.

Kemer side: Phaselis, Olympos and Tahtalı

  • Phaselis is an ancient harbour city in a pine forest by the sea near Tekirova, where you can walk among the ruins and swim in the small bays.
  • Olympos is a ruined city in a green valley that opens onto a pebble beach, next to Çıralı.
  • Tahtalı is the high mountain above the Kemer coast, with a cable car from near Tekirova to the summit and wide views over the sea.

These three are closest to Kemer, Kiriş, Çamyuva, Tekirova and Çıralı, and can be combined into one day from those resorts.

How to plan and book your day

  1. Choose your stops and the order you prefer. Combining places in the same direction works best, for example Perge and Aspendos, or the Manavgat waterfall and the Green Canyon.
  2. Tell us how long you want at each stop and your preferred pick-up time.
  3. Give the number of passengers and children's ages, so we can suggest the right vehicle and child seats.
  4. The route and the price are agreed in advance, per vehicle, so there are no surprises on the day. You pay in the vehicle; no prepayment is needed.

Good combinations by resort: from Lara or Kundu, the Düden waterfalls with Kaleiçi; from Belek, Perge and Aspendos, or Köprülü Canyon for a full day; from Side or Manavgat, the Manavgat waterfall and the Green Canyon; from Kemer, Phaselis with Tahtalı, or Olympos with Çıralı beach; from Konyaaltı, Termessos in the morning and Kaleiçi in the afternoon.

Send your plan via WhatsApp or the booking form, or look at our tours page for ideas. Opening times and tickets are handled at each site, so check current details before you go.
