A day by the Manavgat river
After a few days on the beach in Mahmutlar, many guests fancy a change of scene. Manavgat offers exactly that: a town on a wide green river, with riverside cafés, boat trips that head downstream towards the sea, and the Manavgat waterfall just outside town, where the river tumbles over a broad, low ledge. The distance is about 75 km, and the drive usually takes around 65 minutes. From Mahmutlar the driver heads west through Kestel, crosses Alanya and then follows the D400 coastal road towards Manavgat, with long views of the sea for much of the way.
