Kumkoy is a resort strip on the western edge of Side, on the Turkish Riviera east of Antalya. The name means sand village, and that sums it up well: a long, gently shelving sandy beach lined with hotels, with the ancient harbour town of Side only a short ride away along the coast.

Once a small farming village, Kumkoy has grown into one of the busiest holiday zones of the Side region. Families like the shallow water and the flat seafront, couples come for the mix of lazy beach days and evenings in Side old town, and many guests return year after year. Most accommodation is in large beach hotels and holiday villages, with smaller hotels and apartments set a little back from the sea.

The drive covers about 62 km and normally takes around 72 minutes. Your driver follows the main D400 coastal highway east past Aksu and Serik, then turns off towards Side and the beach road of Kumkoy. Traffic is usually light, although summer changeover days can add a little time.

After passport control and baggage claim, walk out into the arrivals hall. Your driver is waiting there with a name sign, helps with the bags and walks you to the vehicle. We track your flight, so if it lands early or late the pick-up simply moves with it and waiting on delays is free. A night arrival costs the same as a daytime one, and there is no luggage fee.

Hotels in Kumkoy line both sides of the main beach road. The seaward side is home to the larger resorts with direct beach access, while the inland side has mid-sized hotels, apartments and holiday homes within walking distance of the sand. To the east the area runs into Side itself; to the west it continues towards Colakli and Evrenseki.

For the way back, aim to be at the airport about 2.5–3 hours before an international flight — check your airline's advice. With a departure at 15:00, a pick-up from Kumkoy at around 10:30 leaves a comfortable margin for the drive and check-in.
