Antalya Airport Transfer with a Wheelchair: What to Know

A folding wheelchair, walker or rollator travels free with your Antalya Airport transfer as luggage; just tell us about it when you book. We want to be clear from the start: our vehicles have no ramp or lift, so the traveller needs to be able to move from the wheelchair into a vehicle seat, with help from a companion if needed.

The short answer: what works and what does not

Our transfers suit travellers who use a wheelchair or walking aid for distances but can stand briefly and take a few steps, or who can move into a seat with a companion's help. In that case the trip is straightforward: the folded wheelchair, walker or rollator goes in the luggage area, there is no luggage fee, and the price per vehicle stays exactly as quoted.

What we cannot offer is a vehicle you roll into while seated. We have no ramp, no lift and no wheelchair-accessible van. If the traveller has to stay in the wheelchair for the whole journey, or uses a heavy electric chair that does not fold, please do not book with us on the assumption that it will work out on the day. Write to us first with the details, and we will tell you honestly whether it is possible. It is better to know this weeks before the flight than at the kerb outside arrivals.

From the aircraft to the arrivals hall

The part between the plane door and the arrivals hall is handled by the airport and your airline, not by the transfer. When you book your flight, or at the latest a few days before travel, ask your airline to arrange special assistance for both directions. They can tell you what support is available at Antalya Airport for boarding, disembarking and passport control.

Once you come out into the arrivals hall, our part begins. The driver waits with a name sign, so there is no need to walk around looking for a taxi rank or a shuttle stop. We track your flight: if the plane is late or assistance takes longer to bring you through, the driver adjusts, and waiting for a delayed flight costs nothing extra. For a step-by-step picture of the terminal, see our guide to the Antalya airport transfer.

Getting in and out of the vehicle

We use three vehicle types: Minivan (1–6 passengers), VIP Mercedes-Benz Vito (1–7) and Mercedes Sprinter (8–16). All of them sit higher than an ordinary family car, so getting in means a step up rather than lowering yourself down. For some people that is actually easier on the knees and hips; for others the step is the difficult part. The Sprinter, being the tallest, has the biggest step.

Because every body is different, the best approach is to describe the situation and ask us. Tell us whether the traveller can manage one step with support, whether they prefer to sit near the door, and how much the folded wheelchair or walker measures. We then suggest the vehicle that fits best. You can compare the three types on our fleet page.

Allow extra time, and bring your companions along

Getting settled takes a few more minutes when a walking aid is involved, and that is completely fine. Mention it in the booking so the pick-up time is planned with a calm margin instead of a rush.

The transfer is private, so whoever helps the traveller sits in the same car: a partner, an adult child, a carer, or the whole family. There is no shared shuttle, no stop at other hotels, and no strangers waiting for you to board. The price is per vehicle, not per person, so a companion does not make the trip more expensive. If you are a larger group, for example a family reunion with grandparents, choose a vehicle size that leaves the front seat or a seat near the sliding door free for the person who needs it.

Drive times and arrival at the hotel

Shorter journeys are easier on anyone who finds sitting for long tiring. Typical times from Antalya Airport (summer peaks and city traffic can add a little):

  • Lara: ≈ 14 km, ≈ 20 min
  • Kaleiçi: ≈ 16 km, ≈ 25 min
  • Konyaaltı: ≈ 27 km, ≈ 35 min
  • Belek: ≈ 33 km, ≈ 40 min
  • Kemer: ≈ 58 km, ≈ 70 min
  • Side: ≈ 65 km, ≈ 75 min
  • Alanya: ≈ 125 km, ≈ 120 min

On the longer routes you can ask the driver for a short stop to stretch your legs. At the end, the car pulls up at the hotel entrance rather than on the main road, so the distance to reception is as short as the hotel layout allows. Questions about step-free rooms, lifts or pool access are best asked to the hotel directly before you book. Our article on travelling in Antalya with seniors has more ideas for a relaxed holiday.

Planning the return day

On the way home, everything takes a little longer: checking out, packing, getting into the car, and then the airport formalities with assistance. Book the return transfer at the same time as the arrival, tell us your flight time, and we agree the hotel pick-up with you in advance, deliberately on the early side. Remind your airline about the assistance request for the departure too, so support is in place for check-in and boarding.

If your flight time changes, send us a message and we move the pick-up. You pay in the vehicle, in cash or by card if agreed beforehand. There is no prepayment, and cancellation is free if your plans change.

What to tell us when you book

  • Type of aid: folding wheelchair, walker, rollator or crutches.
  • Folded size, or the model name if you have it.
  • Whether the traveller can take a step into the vehicle with help.
  • Number of companions and suitcases.
  • Flight numbers for arrival and departure, and your hotel.

Send this on WhatsApp or through the booking form and you get a fixed-price quote within 1 minute. If you would rather talk the situation through first, all ways to reach us are on our contact page.

Frequently Asked Questions

Can I take a wheelchair in an Antalya Airport transfer?

Yes, if it folds. A folding wheelchair, walker or rollator travels free as luggage. Please mention it when booking.

Do you have wheelchair-accessible vehicles with a ramp?

No. None of our vehicles has a ramp or lift, so the traveller must be able to move into a seat, with help from a companion if needed.

What about an electric wheelchair or scooter?

Send us the model and folded dimensions before booking. Heavy chairs that do not fold may not be possible, and we will tell you honestly.

Who helps me from the plane to the arrivals hall?

Ask your airline to arrange special assistance. Our driver meets you in the arrivals hall with a name sign.

Is there a charge for the wheelchair or for a carer?

No. There is no luggage fee, and the price is per vehicle, so companions and carers do not add to it.

Will the driver wait if assistance takes longer?

We track your flight and the driver adjusts to the actual landing. Waiting for a delayed flight is free.

Is the transfer private or shared?

All our transfers are 100% private; the vehicle is dedicated to your group only, with no other passengers.

Is the price per person or per vehicle?

The price is per vehicle. One passenger or six pay the same fare in the same vehicle.

What happens if my flight is delayed?

We track your flight live and adjust the pickup time to the new landing time, free of charge.

Is prepayment required?

No, standard bookings need no prepayment; you can pay the driver at the end of the transfer.
